Yahoo Review: Guitar Hero Encore: Rocks the 80s

Given that Guitar Hero is so awesome, there's not a lot you can say about Guitar Hero Encore: Rocks the 80s beyond that it's awesome, but with bigger hair and gaudier colors. This collection of thirty new songs for the Playstation 2 version is the fond farewell from Guitar Hero creator Harmonix before they move on to bigger venues with Rock Band and pass the Guitar Hero name over to another developer.

These articles are a huge waste of time. NOBODY said anything about Guitar Hero dying until now so all of these articles are just looking for hits.

True, but now I'm just waiting for the inevitable death of COD......and Bobby Kotick.

Nah, CoD has time until it gets on the portable platforms. Then you know it's near the end.

COd has already some titles on DS

Actually there was lots of talk about the death of Guitar Hero and the decline of the music genre before the decision was made to halt development of Guitar Hero and DJ Hero. The writing was on the wall when Warriors of Rock and Rock Band 3 failed to deliver.

Don't forget that Viacom sold off Harmonix after poor sales of Rock Band 3. The wheels were already in motion. People talking about it now are just trying to seem intelligent now that the predictions have come true.

I still think that Guitar hero had better song selection than Rock Band. That, unfortunetly didn't make it the better game though.

No. Maybe you misunderstood. Ideally it would go in Gaming only since no platform mentioned. However, if you're going to put it in all the platforms, you can't put it in Gaming as well. It's one or the other.

And actually don't see why it's in just PS3 and 360 channels either. First of all, ideally it should probably be in Gaming channel only since it's not announced and no platforms revealed. But if you're adding ps3 and 360, then why not the other platforms that Guitar Hero has come to?
