Useless single player filler repurposed as overpriced DLC. Amazing.

Leeroyw280d ago

At least ten bots or shills (or worse) down voted you for saying something that makes sense. This is horse armour. Nothing more. Extra content? Should have been in the game. Spare me. Yet people applaud them for it.

bunt-custardly280d ago

"Extra content? Should have been in the game."

lol where have you been the last 20 years.

Amplitude280d ago (Edited 280d ago )

I've seen a lot of hate for this game. Every time I've seen it, I've thought it looks pretty sick and was honestly planning on grabbing it week one.

Not anymooooore. Will wait for a patched Complete Edition later.

Edit: just found out about the always online requirement. Will never play this actually

Notellin277d ago

I couldn't agree more with you @Leeroyw. It's terrible now that we're all used to it and comments get down voted for sharing opinions.

CrimsonWing69281d ago

I’m actually legit looking forward to this—I know, I know, unpopular opinion n’ all

notatallsurprisinggg281d ago

im so backlogged for games, i'll happily pick it up on sale in 6 months time.

DaCajun280d ago

I'll wait for reviews, if they're decent then I'll get ubi+ on pc for $18. Finish it before the month subscription is up and cancel the subscription. Cheaper than full price and sooner than waiting months for a sale.

PapaBop281d ago

Can be forgiven, with a few exceptions like the Jedi games, we've been starved of great Star Wars experiences for a long time.

Tacoboto281d ago

Did you play their Avatar game from last year?

jznrpg281d ago

I did and it was fun at first invading bases and upgrading stuff but you start to spend a lot of time looking for materials and there was too much filler. Not a bad game but I started to get bored with it because I’ve played this same game before with a different Ubisoft skin .

Tacoboto280d ago

I'm playing through AC Mirage and feeling that same kind of way about 20 hours in.

The gameplay loop is fun, as an Ubisoft-formula game knows how to be, but it gets so samey. The story also feels unfocused.

ZeekQuattro281d ago

Same. As a Star Wars fan this game is right up my alley.

jznrpg281d ago

It looks intriguing to me. If it wasn’t Ubisoft I’d probably buy it day one. But knowing them I’m very hesitant plus always online is lame as well. These types of games I usually wait until Black Friday especially Ubisoft games I’ve bought in the past.

I want to like it but Ubisoft will Ubisoft and the online requirement is a huge turn off for me after the crew drama

It still looks pretty good all in all but it'll probably be a wait for a sale type of game that I'll grab for 20 or under

REDGUM281d ago

But you'll still need the "online requirement" when you do get it in the future so I don't totally get what you mean here.

The online requirement is ONLY for the installation of the game.
Just about every game nowadays has some sort of online connection requirement.
Ans yes I know, no dev should require this from us to play but the benefits of being online outweigh off-line in my opinion especially when it comes to patches etc.

Profchaos281d ago (Edited 281d ago )

Yeah but I won't be paying 120 aud dollars for a game that can be taken away from me whenever Ubisoft deem it. I can live with a 20 dollar loss in that regard but I'd be very annoyed if they took my access away after paying that much even if it's 10 years removed.

Here's the thing most of those benifits like patching should not require a constant connection games have been able to be patched for the last 20 years on consoles but they still have the ability to operate independently from a server to be clear it's not the fact that you need a internet connection to latch it outlaws requires a constant connection to play the game so your isp has a outage or the servers have issues you can't play this game at all.

It's been confirmed by Ubisoft that online requirement is not for installation but to play the game

Jesus

How can people keep supporting Ubisoft with this shit, it’s clearly cut content already done

Rebel_Scum281d ago

Only its not cut content. Its planned that way.

And when there’s layoffs you’re one of the first to complain, when they do things to extend development and keep people employed you complain. Can’t win brudda.

-Foxtrot281d ago

Lmao

You honestly think cutting content saves developers?

Ahahahahaha

Jesus man…no…just no

MrNinosan280d ago

And still every base Ubisoft game gives way more playtime than 99% of the other games we play.

I love Ubisoft games, and rarely play through anything else than the core game.

AC Origins, Odyssey, Valhalla is all amazing.
Fenyx, Avatar, Far Cry and all Tom Clancy games.

I tend to always jump back to those games, because they're fun to play, well made, and lots of content.

Just because YOU don't like Ubisoft, doesn't mean everyone else should feel the same.

I'm looking forward to both Outlaws and Shadows, and I'm certain I have another 200 hours of fun playtime ahead of me.

-Foxtrot280d ago

Most of that content is repetitive filler and padding that we’d call in any other game….and you know it

Rebel_Scum280d ago

Ahh but I never said it was cut content did I?

So how do you think large companies like Ubisoft build a game? Because I’m telling you now, it’s heavily planned and managed. Im not saying they arent agile, and would change things and adapt over the time with the project, but they plan all this shit out.

Star Wars Outlaws review - ChristCenteredGamer

CCG writes - "Star Wars Outlaws is fun, kept me engaged for about 90 hours, and Kay is a fun character to explore four fairly large environments with. It does a good job of faithfully representing the Star Wars galaxy far far away and stays mostly true to the lore and established characters. There are tie-ins to several of the movies and shows such as Solo and The Empire Strikes Back. If you like Star Wars and you can overlook the subtle and unnecessary woke expressions, then you'll likely enjoy the game. In my humble opinion Outlaws is over-priced at $70 for the standard game, so you may want to wait for a sale."

Stuff that should have been in the base game. Probably would have had better sales, too.

YourMommySpoils32d ago

Don't think even that would have helped this borefest of the least Star Wars experience in history of gaming.

coolbeans32d ago

Nah. The Outlaws base game isn't starved of content. Its more the lacking quality-of-life features at launch and a design template that's fundamentally confused.

-Foxtrot32d ago

The first thing we see Hondo Ohnaka in for a while since Rebels / The Clone Wars and it's for this...

He's such a great character, I thought he'd have been included in something better. Hopefully we see him in Ahsoka Season 2 or the Mandalorian and Grogu film.
