Helldivers 2's community-wide orders build on the legacy of MMOs

Helldivers 2 might not be an MMO but it has learned from the community efforts of that genre, enabling its success as a live service title.

Its MMO-lite or MMO-like whatever you want to call it. But it doesn’t have the monthly sub so that’s always nice.

I’m 99% single player gamer but I really enjoy Helldivers 2. You can play one mission and be done or grind out a bunch if you want. Solo or with friends but it’s much better with at least one more person

I started out a few levels just solo to see how it all worked and it's small things I then only noticed like the robot patrols if you listen they have this creepy chant and when being chased by a charger a group of the tiny ones followed but when my orbital strike took it out a couple of the tiny ones stopped and looked at the dead charger and waited for his friends to catch up it was just that split second glance back the AI took out of the many bugs that were following and with no health bars or clutter it was just me and that line little bug and I'm thinking awww he don't look so mean just before I cooked him with napalm
