That doesn't make it like Fortnite though. Cat ears have been a thing in gaming culture for such a long time. You can literally buy gaming headsets with cat ears. Fortnite is entirely unrelated to it.

Not liking cat ears is fine, I think they're dumb as well. I just think it's stupid that people throw Fortnite around all the time as a reference/reason for everything.

There were armor options in Halo 5 especially that were so over-the-top sci-fi they didn't match the tone either. You'd never see players with the helmets that had also-ridiculous super-slim visors, or visors that were just dots/circles.

Hopefully they do make a ton of money. The more lucrative free-to-play MP games become, the more of them we get. We're very close to a future where paying to play online games on console will be a thing of the past.

Nah... I've got over 100 hours in this game now and I've got like... 5 helmets? I've gotta work my ass off to unlock tan armor?... I hope they don't make a lot of money and become less stingy with cosmetics. We're close to every dev nickel and diming us to unlock simple BS such as red and blue armor... That's what we're close to.

I'm guessing he's playing the game straight up and not on a PC using hacks and cheats and he's also not using a modded controller with auto aim and rapid fire and other cheats that so many use when playing FPS games on console so 100hrs and level 35 looks solid to me.

Not to be a crotchety old man, but I miss cosmetics being earned solely by gameplay. I remember with great fondness how in Halo 3 the helmet/armour you had genuinely was a sign of skill/reputation, there was one that was borderline mythical because it was so rare (well...until cheaters found a way to get it)
