Halo infinite 2 hopefully it'll improve halo

pwnmaster3000199d ago (Edited 199d ago )

Hopefully.

Infinite was glazed the hell up for being such an average game compare to what halo should be.
I remember comments like “grappling hook was the best I used in any game” lol.

I just want that feeling I use to have playing halo. To much good memories playing halo with family and friend to be left where it is now.
I remember in high school our teacher use to let the whole class play halo on the computer during free time. It was so dope.
Let’s hope they change it around.

Hopefully they’ve started fresh with an actual planned out trilogy

just_looken200d ago

HA HA HA dam great joke

This is the team that wants a E rated halo removed the flood changed cortona then the MCC disaster to the point of tossing out games like reach without audio. You even got story content going ever ywere halo infinite opens up making you feel you missed out on 5hours of campaign were is lock and his team? heck why is chief again the only spartan?.

They have 0 clue on what to do with the ip.

Then you got all the microtracactions with roadmaps of the roadmap to the roadmap.

Atriox was such a dam waist also heck halo wars 2 ended with cortona like it was going to be the start of halo infinite on game to the next.

This scene here not from 343 the best recent halo content
https://www.youtube.com/wat...

But here comes 343 tosses halo wars 2 campaign/lore into the trash toss all the old halos into the trash it reminded me of the star wars trilogy that came out years back.

Oh also the games that had no coop because of the console even though the original xbox/xbox 360 could do it without issues.

PhillyDonJawn199d ago (Edited 199d ago )

While most of that is true. This switch can be a good thing. The story was so over the place they can actually "retcon"/ get back on track story wise cause nothing major in the game was confirmed. Cortana could comeback, Atriox etc without ruining lore. So infinite could fit in as a filler arc where chief took down banished captains and regrouped stranded unsc

Yep knew there were two developments ... a current gen only Slipspace project and an UE5 prototyping for post-Slipspace era.
Should've atleast pursued it before ultimately switching to UE5.
More and more in house techs are losing out to UE ... while Splipspace wasn't amazing but other engines were like CDPR's Red engine, Crystal Dyanmics/Eidos' crystal engine/dawn engine, hangar 13's engine etc ...
Hope R*'s Rage engine, Remedy's Northlight, Crytek's CryEngine, Dice's Frostbite, Fable's Forzatech, Sony's 1st party engine etc lives one

Yeah everyone is seeing the unreal engines ai tech the one button terrain creation along with the ability to reuse asset's from one game the next as a big money savings.

To me this is adobe 10 years ago everyone using photoshop making pdf's we all know what happened later there.

I can see next year epic just walks up with a predatory tos like adobe raises prices and all these publishers put that cost onto us then everyone goes wait putting all out eggs in one basket was a bad idea? who would have guessed that.

"I can see next year epic just walks up with a predatory tos like adobe raises prices and all these publishers put that cost onto us then everyone goes wait putting all out eggs in one basket was a bad idea? who would have guessed that."

I think you´re kind of late to the party. Unreal Engines has being the mainstream third party engine for publishers and developers for decades.

Most gaming studios nowadays simple don´t want to have a hard time hiring new developers that aren´t experienced with in-house tech, then wait months for them to go through some basic learning curve which will only result in delay for their games while good results are not guaranteed.

Also, with the ever increasing costs of current gen development, most publishers will avoid the idea of R&D for their in-house tech keep up with powerful modern engines like UE5, so don´t act surprised to see games powered by old in-house engines to look exactly as old gen games.

We'll see in a few weeks how Frostbite's shaping up in DA, and a year away still from seeing ForzaTech not in a racer.

Can't forget idTech either with Indiana Jones in Dec and Doom next year.

RaidenBlack199d ago

Aw man... how did I forget idTech

OMGitzThatGuy199d ago

Stuff like 3d models and animations are developed outside of the game engine and can be imported into another engine without much hassle, assets just need to be imported into the new engine and moved around and animations need to be rescripted and I doubt they were far enough into development for that to cause issue

"The story would have been expanded through yearly campaign DLC, so players would not have to wait for another mainline Halo title." ~ this seldom works
But I still think, they should've tried 1 last Halo sequel based on that slipspace engine, that they invested so much on but made for current gen only, before going all in on UE5.

Call me a cynic. But it seems that not even the people working in the studio know what’s the status of Halo.

They were going to add a BR mode, which then got cancelled, but now it’s a sequel to infinite, but may be a reboot of the first game?

It may be normal for development to be like this as super Mario galaxy started as cut content from Mario 128, which then became a tech demo, which became pikmin, which eventually became Mario galaxy.

But 343 or whatever they are called now-certainly don’t have a good track record so it makes me wonder what’s happening.

porkChop160d ago

The Halo: CE remake is a separate project from the Infinite sequel.

Knightofelemia160d ago

Maybe all the staff got laid off.

TheColbertinator160d ago

I'd be much more comfortable with the future of Halo if "343" or whatever they call themselves now were no longer in charge of the series.

WTF!!!? Can we add Tic-Tac-Toe, maybe Connect 4? How bout the card game Go Fish? Microsoft should shelve the Halo Franchise for 10 to 20yrs or sell it clearly they have no new ideas to take Halo forward and putting a "Hey gamer finish the game for us" mode and we can make more money off it and we can fire some more game Developers that we really don't even care about.......Microsoft is done even trying to make Halo a game worthy of even a little bit of our time.
