It may have cost $7.5 billion dollars to make me realize it, but Microsoft’s Xbox Series S suddenly makes sense. Almost to the point where I’d consider it a genuine threat to Sony’s PS5.

Got the feeling Sony are half arsing the PC thing. It's that or the whole PC thing is completely lost on them.
Its lost to sony, They have been quite poor at pc releases going all the way back to the OG planetside.
Why tho? The SP works without the need to log into PSN, this was literally announce. So why is it an issue? Simply A. removing the login restriction fixes this, or B. People simply won't play the MP which I don't think people will care much. A better option is A, or even better just lower the game price in those countries to compensate for the lack of MP access.

I think it's a great little machine... but I wouldnt go that far.
Not even both machines combined are a Threat. After 6 months its already easy to see. in Europe you can buy one at any big shop. Here in portugal for weeks. Their strategy failed. The only threat for Sony is Nintendo and they arent, because gamers buy it because of being portable. Their big sales dont have any impact on PS5 sales. Microsoft isnt gainining market share in any Country. I think the person that wrote this also doesnt know what is talking. Putting specs without thinking. The Serie S is only digital and the real disk size is 364..... just COD takes 133 gigas. Almost half the size available... ONE game... The moment you buy more space its will be more expensive then a PS5 digital.... Its a machine for casual without any kind of teck knowledge.
You say that now until the real games start coming out that will push the system the PS5 will be able to handle those the Series S the games would have to be dummied down. I still say a Series X would be the way to go I ran into a Series S in Best Buy yesterday I just looked at it and shook my head. If I am going to spend money on a new Xbox I am at least going to go with the one that has more ponies under the hood which is the Series X.
