Anyone knows how this runs compared to origins? Wanna grab this the moment I'm done with origins what an excellent game but rough performance

Kosic1749d ago (Edited 1749d ago )

I'm playing it ATM with an i7 9th gen, 16gb ram, 2060 6gb hp omen laptop. Game runs around 70 FPS on ultra settings.
Only notice a big drop during cut scenes, wonder if they are capped.

If you're talking about console. I'm not sure. I played loads of origins on the ps4 pro and that ran well. So assuming this'll be fairly similar.

Father__Merrin1749d ago

Well NVIDIA runs AC games better I'm on i7 7th gen, 32gb ram Vega 56 flashed to 64. Origins in open areas the fps remains pretty high but in cities it fluctuates 35 40 50 55 65 etc so I'm playing with the 45fps in game lock I just hope Oddesey is a little better.

I have both Origins and Odyssey for the One X. Origins ran a pretty solid 30fps at 4K. Odyssey looks and runs great but I noticed more dips when inside some towns compared to Origins. Its still solid on the One X.

Shane Kim1749d ago

i7 8700k, 32GB RAM and 1080Ti. I run it at max settings 1440p. Only some hickups when it's lots of enemies and effects at once.

iplay1up21749d ago

I played Origins on my X1X, and had no performance issues. Same with Odyssey.

Addressed an issue where Cyclops quests weren’t available to some players after Title Update 1.5.3.
Addressed an issue with the audio output of some of the crowd stations.
Addressed an issue where a placeholder pop-up could appear upon unlocking Ezio’s Roman outfit.

The Open-World Genre In Gaming Has A Quantity Over Quality Problem

More developers need to focus on what makes open-world games like Elden Ring and RDR2 pop, instead of focusing on needless map expansions.

KyRo243d ago

Open world games need a overhaul in general.

Go here - kill this target
Go here - fetch this
Clear this camp
Add dozens of filler side quests
Tack on a RPG skill tree
Finish up with a couple of hundred collectables

98 percent of open world games follow this game design and it's boring now after nearly a decade of following this same design.

anast243d ago

Maybe they know what it takes to make an engaging open-world, but they won't. For most publishers, managers probably get bonuses for finding ways to cut corners.

IAMRealHooman243d ago

yes. Every ubisoft like is overly large map. just to say it's huge with nothing in it.
Love'em or hate'em a yakuza game is a significantly smaller map, with a lot of side activities and absurd quest lines.trying the different restaurants in game can be enjoyable as they offer different buffs, do that or make traversal so good you wouldn't dare fast travel ie Spiderman

YourMommySpoils243d ago (Edited 243d ago )

Stellar Blade says hello.

The only quality game to come out this year.

exputers243d ago

While true, that one's not a full open-world. Pretty much like God of War Ragnarok.

YourMommySpoils243d ago

Not sure how everyone judges this. If that's the case, that would mean even The Witcher 3 isn't open world and just semi maps slowly unlocked.

Technically, we wanted more money.

bradfh523d ago

Call of Duty already does this; Ubisoft and other game companies will follow suit and explore similar approaches.

Kaii523d ago

Congratulations, A technical error In displaying ads while playing.
EU consumer law needs to chew these assholes a new one.

TheColbertinator523d ago

At this point the entire EU commission must be bribed

Christopher523d ago

The big note here is the built in ad-displays during gameplay and not that they happened. Start screen, cool. Gameplay? That shouldn't ever happen.

Yi-Long522d ago (Edited 522d ago )

"Start screen, cool."

Uhm, no. Start screen very much NOT cool either. There really need to be new laws implemented banning these companies from shoving ads down out throats at every opportunity they see fit.

Crows90522d ago

For free to play which is a market of games needing monetization through different venues. In those games this stuff is fine by me. But when you pay ..20, 40 ,60, or $70 that's when it is not okay to any degree.

jznrpg522d ago

Start screen not cool either

walken7523d ago

They're testing the waters, vote with your wallets.

porkChop523d ago

That's not a technical error. An ad can't be displayed mid-game without you creating the code/tech to make that possible first.
