have this pre ordered. Here's hoping it's spiders breakout game.

I actually like Spiders. I thought Bound by Flame was highly underrated for its time. On PS4 it had good visuals and good combat. Straight up.

Greedfall will be a decent game. It has twice the budget of Technomancer and they are focusing on improving combat and dramatically increasing map size. My only worry, since people cried about difficulty in Technomancer, Spiders has made a point to decrease combat difficulty and increase accessibility within combat. I just worry it'll be oversimplified and too easy, but i'm very excited. This is Spiders biggest production and the fiction is incredibly interesting.

Mark my words, Greedfall is the next Vampyr, or better.

Based on what i know about Spiders? it'll be much better than Vampyr.
(though i didn't really like Vampyr all that much at all to be honest)
All the same- i've enjoyed the old school Bioware feel of every one of Spiders games to a larger extent with each release, i'm looking forward to it.

I didnt know this has twice the budget as technomancer. Thats a good sign.

I hope this game is good. I'm looking forward to playing a RPG that isn't medieval or post apocalyptic.

I often wonder what would happen if a developer like Spiders or Piranha Bytes had even half the man power and budget of a typical AAA RPG.

Elex 2 has approximately 30 devs and a budget of 1.7 million Euros which roughly equates to 1.9 million dollars USD. Think about it. A huge, open world RPG with skill trees, different joinable factions, numerous endings, dialogue choice, mounds of loot, a deep narrative, jetpacks, magic, guns, swords, and monsters all for under 2 million dollars. How is that possible? I know the visuals and animations are mediocre, as well as the voice acting, but still.

Imagine if Piranha Bytes had 40 extra people and a 10 million dollar budget? It would still be a fraction of a standard AAA, but what would they achieve? Traditionally, Spiders is a studio of less than 30 people. It's impressive to even get a working open world RPG with 20 something people let alone ship a competent game.

I love Focus Home, they are the middleweight champ of publishers in my opinion. I'm gutted that Big Ben stole their talent and i root for them, but i'd love to see a big publisher take on a studio like Spiders and bolster the team with 20 good technical people and perhaps 15 more quality hires, triple their typical budget, and let them create, independently, for three years. These studios have more creativity and far better fiction than the big boys. The settings are always great. Elex, Technomancer, Greedfall. These are all infinitely more fascinating worlds than your typical RPG.

People praise CDPR for making The Witcher 3 with a relatively small team, but they had 200 people on a 50 million dollar budget. TW3 is phenomenal, but that budget is immense.

A direct sequel to GreedFall has a lot to work with like exploring Teer Fradee’s evolution or even introducing a new protagonist.

It’s mandatory employers deny allegations. They aren’t going to say yeah we f’d up let us pay you money now. They will deny and litigate it until they think they will lose and then try to settle

Why didn't this journo include statements from the Union of Video Game Workers?

coolbeans299d ago

I see a hyperlink to the 20-page outline by the union.

Clippy298d ago

They were there linked to the original story covering the allegations

phoenixwing299d ago

Really? They were so close to hitting mainstream stardom and now they're battling allegations. Greedfall was their breakthrough hit to me and I expected the next game to have ironed out the rough edges.
