I can see why someone would want to find quests and objectives on their own by exploring the world but I think it would get frustrating for me, I would rather have quest markers and objectives given to me. Although calling it 'Guided Mode' makes me feel like a noob ;/

atleast we are given a choice i am like you i need to know where i am going and what i am doing but others may have a different preference. As long as both sides are give their respective preferred choice i got nothing to say

Japan or China would be more interesting to me. Also. Futuristic version already.

Isn't a futuristic version just Hitman?

Wouldn't that be more "modern?" Futuristic from the perspective of going from ancient to "NOW," but I mean flying cars, diving off sync points through the soaring traffic, e.g. Fifth Element. Have a "laser" garrote wire, e.g. Johnny Mnemonic, infiltration by hijacking other cybernetic bodies of pedestrians, guards, etc, e.g. Ghost in the Shell stuff.

I think it would be an even MORE natural fit considering the way the Assassin's Creed series is handled, i.e. as "living" past events, but technically from a future timeline.

You can still throw all the existential questions you want into a narrative, look at each movie I listed, include Blade Runner and others, lots of room for a pretty good story.
