will definitely try out Mafia 3. Dead by Daylight is sort of meh, but maybe with some of the updates it has gotten better.

will also try out Here They Lie. Any PSVR users played this game? Share your thoughts on it..

Crazyglues2478d ago

Wow Mafia 3 is a really good game to get for free.... Nice..

IamTylerDurden12478d ago (Edited 2478d ago )

Mafia 3 is a great get on PS+. Dead by Daylight isn't my style of game, but it's a legit offering. Don't forget that Here They Lie can be played without VR as well.

Toolster2478d ago

Mafia 3 gets very repetitive but that said I had a absolute blast playing it, I even bought the season pass. For free it's a no-brainer imo.

IamTylerDurden12478d ago

Mafia 3 is nicely upgraded for PS4 Pro as well. Both Mafia 3 and Here They Lie have excellent Pro patches.

Venoxn4g2478d ago

Here they lie isnt too bad..but it was one of the games that my stomach wasnt comfortable..even though I completed Resident evil 7 with much less problems..

Wagz222478d ago

Here They Lie I thought was really good and the aesthetics are equally great. But Like Venox said, you might start to feel queasy playing and yea I played Resident Evil 7 with no problems. I think it just might be the movement is just a little off which causes you to feel off balance. Just play for about 15 minutes at a time or at the first sign you start to slightly feel uncomfortable. I played with three of my friends and we all felt sick after playing for like 25 minutes at a time.

Neonridr2478d ago

yeah I have a Rift along with a PSVR so I have gotten my VR legs as they say, I don't tend to notice any ill effects anymore with VR. But will take my time with it in case something is off with the motion.

Shmeidi2478d ago

Does playing for only 15-20 minutes at a time affect the flow of the game though? I feel like it would.

Wagz222476d ago

@Neonridr, Yea I would play it safe but I don't play VR all the time so you might be able to handle it better. Hopefully you like it, at least just for the atmosphere.

@Shmeidi, It's interesting enough where you want to keep coming back to it but it does kind of suck to have to take a break for at least 15 minutes before going on it. But it does have good spots where you can stop and take a break.

Aceman182478d ago

I already have Mafia 3 I actually have to go back and finish the dlc for it lol. The others here I'm feeling at all.

BABY-JEDI2478d ago

Here They Lie is the only PSVR game to give me nausea🤢. Everything else has no affect. Lucky me
PSVR Persistence is Brilliant ‘must buy’

rob-GP2478d ago

Here they Lie is also a non-PSVR title now, they patched it about 6 months ago. So if you don't like it in VR - just play Flat :)

Neonridr2478d ago

true, but I feel a game like this would really lose some appeal without the VR aspect since it's not an extremely deep experience to begin with.

Lilrizky2478d ago (Edited 2478d ago )

Personally, Here They Lie isn't very good. It has a cool tone, but it really just involves you walking the whole time. It's also one of the most commonly reported VR game for people getting motion sickness.

Mr_Luke2478d ago

I got Here They Lie for PSVR some months ago. I find it very "weird", but in the good sense of the word. All dark and gives you the sensation that something bad is happening every time you go to a new location. And some jumpscare is there too (i really like those in VR :P).
But it's my point of view, i liked it.

Neonridr2477d ago

I shall check it out, thank you for your opinion.

@ZaWarudo
Well... there are games for about everyone. And 2 bonus (Here They Lie and Knowledge is Power). So there's a lot of material to be busy until the next update.
Of course if you don't like anything besides SS3, i understand it's not a good month for you. BUT you should add "... for me" , because there are many good games this month.

Hmm. PS Plus has generally been a lot better than GwG this year (March being the standout with R&C and Bloodborne) but they've really been outclassed in this upcoming month. Kinda disappointed. MS has both a superior single player and a superior multiplayer game this month. Sony did only use to add games to the service if they got fairly good reviews and had higher standards (I believe 75+ metacritic although they didn't always follow it).

Has Dead by Daylight gotten significantly better since launch and is it worth playing now? I'll probably give Mafia 3 a go but I've been told by friends not to bother with it despite its strong story. I haven't played Absolver yet though so I might just go back and play that. Seems a lot more interesting than this month's offerings although as I said, I haven't played it yet (focusing on backlog but was hoping for a nice surprise). Some will say that I'm being too harsh (there's always that one guy who says "entitled") but I'm just being honest. I'm more of a single player gamer so the main reason I pay for the service is for the games (like on PS3).

PoopsMcGee2478d ago (Edited 2478d ago )

Myself, I'm happier with this month than Bloodborne/Ratchet because I already had those games. I mean, what diehards didn't buy those two themselves...

I love it when they put AAA games like this that I'm interested in checking out but I'm never going to buy. Score month by my standards.

LucasRuinedChildhood2478d ago (Edited 2478d ago )

Fair enough. I had never gotten into the Souls games prior to Bloodborne. I finally caved in and it was an incredible game. The PS4 version of Mafia 3 seems to have sold around as well as Bloodborne so it's not an entirely different situation or anything. I suppose I get your point though - Mafia 3 isn't a must buy for some so it's nice to get it for free. I'd say most would agree that there's a lot of more interesting PS4 games out there though.

To be fair, it is an AAA game which people used to complain there wasn't enough of on PS Plus but they solved that issue a year or so ago. As I said, I'll give it a go and hopefully it surprises me.

When I praised the GwG lineup but said that I preferred previous PS Plus lineups compared to GwG lineups people got offended as well. Not trying to be a dick or offend people. Just my opinion.

IamTylerDurden12478d ago (Edited 2478d ago )

If you like sp games you are in luck. Mafia 3 is a sp AAA game with a great story. Here They Lie is an interesting sp game. Bound by Flame is an underrated sp RPG with good combat. Last month we got Heavy Rain, Zero Escape Time Dilemma, Rayman 3. The prior month we got XCOM 2 and Ghost Recon Future Soldier. The month before that Beyond 2 Souls and Rayman Legends. Of course in March we got Bloodborne and Ratchet & Clank. Plenty of great sp games, enjoy!

Christopher2478d ago

Good combat and Bound By Flame do not belong in the same sentence unless you like auto-tracking galore in your games.

OB1Biker2478d ago

I mean, you haven't played Mafia III and you say your just being honest and a single player gamer? Your disappointed?
I just wish I didn't play the game on day one so I could play it with an open mind and be blown away again by the style.
'there's always that one guy who says "entitled"
No your not. Don't bother.

Profchaos2478d ago

what you’ve just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

LucasRuinedChildhood2478d ago

Nah. People are just easily offended when someone doesn't 100% like what one platform does 100% of the time. I complimented the GwG lineup but said I generally prefer PS Plus lineups and the Xbox guys couldn't handle it either.

JesusBuiltmyHotrod2477d ago

Why even bring up GWG....no one cares, stop the console warrior silliness.

Been wanting to play Mafia 3 for a while but the iffy reviews have held me from buying it. Looking forward to it

attilayavuzer2478d ago

For what it's worth, the story and acting are phenomenal.

2477d ago
roostermoans2477d ago

The shitty reviews I feel really deprived a lot of people from buying a great game. Yes it's repetitive, but very few games AREN'T repetitive. Fifa, CoD, Battlefield, Assassin's Creed..... how come other games weren't docked 20 or 30% just for being repetitive? That aside, everything else about the game, I felt, was stunning. Story, acting, mood, atmosphere. And play it with headphones on, cause the soundtrack is, for me, the best out there. So happy it'll be reaching a wider audience now it's free.

bluefox7552478d ago

Eh, good not great. Guess I've just been too spoiled by their recent offerings.

Will the PS5 Pro be the first console to exceed a $1k price tag?

PRIMORDUS3h ago

If that's true, Sony will sell less just like MS and Xbox raising prices they will have a lot more consoles unsold.

andy852h ago

It's not gonna go up $350 😂

darthv724h ago

Like I said in the XB price increase... I'm glad I already got it when I did. And don't shy away from the 2nd hand markets. I see 5's going for around $300-400. Sometimes with a stack of games.

RCJvg3h ago

Obviously. Sony loves to increase prices

pwnmaster30001h ago

What company doesn’t?

Hate to sound like a hipster but I kind of miss when gaming was just for “kids” or “nerds”

anast3h ago

People are junkies. They will buy it anyway.

gold_drake3h ago

for those who want the pro, get it now.
