Review: Ni No Kuni 2: Revenant Kingdom - PS4 | Pure PlayStation

Pure PlayStation: It’s hard for me to believe that Ni No Kuni 2 is the successor to the White Witch when the latter is better in every single regard. A better story, better characters, better world design - just better everything. Even the feels were dimmered in Revenant Kingdom. There were only two times I barely felt something emotionally and I pondered about it longer than the game itself did. Before you ask, the only reasons I’m still hanging around after forty five hours of playtime are fun but simple gameplay, the kingdom creation feature, and simply being a Ni No Kuni fan. I have no doubt someone who doesn’t like what I just mentioned would have been lost long ago.

For me its beter than the first game.Im not the only one thinking this...and this game is not a 6 in anyway more a solid 8.5 even 9.Its scores 85 on metacritics.

phoenixwing2570d ago

I agree with you. Some of these reviews seem to be looking for clicks or don't understand jrpg's at all.

CP_Company2571d ago

Pureshit they need to call them self and not pure playstation.

this game is better in almost every way then first game.

GOODKylePS2571d ago

Did you read the review? There are reasons for that score for that ONE person.

CP_Company2571d ago

6 out of 10 is a clickbait for this game, this game is nowhere near 6. and i don't bother to read shitty opinions.

GOODKylePS2571d ago

so to sum up 1. attack a site because they give a score you disagree with 2. Refuse to read their reasoning but remain mad anyway 3. Doubly make sure to include obscenities in your disagreement. N4G in a nutshell I guess.

thekhurg2571d ago

It's clickbait. With an 85 metacritic and only 6 reviews below 75.

porkChop2571d ago (Edited 2571d ago )

So if you haven't read the review, and don't know their reasoning, how can you claim it's clickbait?

You do understand how opinions work, right? Just because you think one way, doesn't mean everyone else has to. You're confusing opinions with facts.

@OB1Biker

I am fully aware of how opinions work. And what is it that I can't let go? What are you talking about?

OB1Biker2571d ago (Edited 2571d ago )

Its seems more like you and Goodk dont understand how opinions work and cant let it go.

OB1Biker2571d ago (Edited 2571d ago )

Its his opinion that 6 is a clickbait score. Agree to disagree and let it go.
End of drama

Theknightofnights2571d ago (Edited 2571d ago )

@OB1Biker

The thing is that CP_Company has an uneducated opinion about the contents of the article. At the very least the one who reviewed Ni No Kuni 2 has an educated opinion about the game, albeit one I disagree with.

An uneducated opinion isn't as valuable as an educated opinion.

Chaos_Order2570d ago

Gotta remember this is N4G where every score below an 8 is click bait / hater and every score over 9 is from a shill. Oh and you're not allowed to step outside the meta critic by more than 1 point or you're DEFINITELY wrong. Unless of course the consensus is otherwise as decided by the unwatchable watchmen and almighty arbiters of gaming opinion.

It's this sort of pathetic, inane, idiotic, immature attitude that I hate about the gaming community.

On topic, I haven't played Ni No Kuni II but I do plan on getting it as I adored the first game.

You do this a lot. Anytime a review score is low, you have a problem with it and call it clickbait, especially if it's a game on a Playstation console. You can't accept other people's opinions.

CP_Company2571d ago

i kind agree with Sea of Thieves and those 6 scores, those are low scores, but the game totally deserved them. so, your point of this logic is fault, but unless you tried and failed hard.

SegaGamer2570d ago

Of course you agree with the Sea of Thieves score, it's an Xbox game. If it was a Playstation game, you would say the scores are wrong. You're a fanboy, your opinions are biased and shouldn't be taken seriously.

CP_Company2570d ago

so, Ni No Kuni 2 is playstation game? it was not released on PC? the same as Sea of Thieves?

shit game is shit game, it does not matter on which platforms they are coming.

you are making so many fault assumption, it's hard to understand, are you retarded or just don't have what to do in life, apart from making stupid post.

SegaGamer2570d ago (Edited 2570d ago )

Yeah, they are on PC, but when one is available on one console and not the other, you will crap all over the game on a Microsoft console and reject any negative opinion about the Playstation game. I don't know why you are trying to deny all of this, your comment history proves all of my points.

I'm confident that you are one of those people that criticised IGN's review of Ni No Kuni 2 but then praised them for their review of God Of War.

I'm 10 hours in and so far I'm loving it. Love the characters, the pacing and the combat system.

The only thing I don't like is the "chibi" sections. It really feels like they were done to shorten the games development time.

-Foxtrot2571d ago

Yeah I don't mind it as much on the map but they use the skirmish mini game far too often. I would have probably preferred defending my Kingdom with enemies approaching the front gate in waves and you fighting them off in a huge battle, just in a standard battle mode not the chibi ariel view way. You could have all your main characters with a few army members with you and let yourself build tower defences in between waves.
