Xbox 360 Games That Should Get Enhanced For Xbox One X Next After The Recent Update

ThisGenGaming says "One of the best additional features of the Xbox One X is the upgrades that Xbox 360 games can get from it. Here's a few Xbox 360 titles that we would like to see get that treatment next."

Honestly all of them that are bc already shluld recieve a patch... but id love to Lost Odyssey, Blue Dragon, enslaved Odyssey to the West, condemned criminal Origins, Star Ocean and Tails of valkyria to name a few...

traumadisaster2245d ago

It would be nice, btw condemned and enslaved on 4kpc are great.

Darkwatchman2245d ago

I own both a PS4 pro and an Xbox One X and well, star ocean got a proper remaster on pc and ps4 with visual settings that can even be tweaked on the console version so i’d Rather just play star ocean on a PS4 Pro(which has native 4K as one of the delectable resolutions) than a backwards compatible 4K version.

TheCommentator2244d ago

I'd rather be able to play the games I already own with free enhancements than have to pay more for a native 4K remaster simply because there's no choice. Besides, I doubt the difference between a 360 game in Native 4K and one upconverted from 720p (9x pixels) with both the original AA and X1's on top of that would look much different.

I know that they're upscaled, but is there a video of an X1 enhanced 360 title that doesn't look like native 4K to you? To me the differences are night and day between the originals and the X1 enhanced videos, and I don't see any artifacts that suggest the 1X isn't producing a clean 4K image. There's almost certainly going to be less difference between a 1x enhanced 360 game and a Native 4K remaster than there is between Pro and 1X versions of current gen games, and those have to be compared side by side to see the differences.

A remake, on the other hand, is something that makes more sense to for me to buy again, but to each their own.

Darkwatchman2244d ago (Edited 2244d ago )

@commentator, I was just playing Doom 3 BFG on Xbox One X the other day and let me tell you, after the crystal clarity of Skate 3 which was X enhanced, I COULD EASILY tell I was dealing with a sub 1080p image with Doom 3. It’s got soft image quality and doesn’t look great despite its relatively low quality assets which you might think wouldn’t benefit from high resolutions, but I guarantee it would. There’s only so much upscaling can do. It looks meh.

Edit: wait, I’m reading your comment multiple times and I’m a little confused by what you’re saying. Not sure I understood perfectly, actually.

I think one of the things you’re talking about that I’m getting is about the difference between a 1X enhanced game and a 4K remaster compared to the same game on ps4 pro and Xbox one x and you said that even those need to be compared side by side to see the difference. Oh hell no.

I’ve played some demos and games on ps4 pro then jumped onto the One X versions after getting the One X like Fortnite, Wolfenstein 2, The Evil Within 2, etc...and the difference was night and day. I didn’t even need to switch screens to notice. The second I began looking at the screen on the Xbox One X for all those games I immediately noticed a big visual jump that didn’t require me looking at the game side by side or switching HDMI outs on the same scene to compare. It’s a huge difference for the games that aren’t lazy.

I did even test out he Metal Gear Survive Beta and the Xbox One X version looks so much sharper than the PS4 pro version. Same thing with Dragonball FighterZ Beta/Demo.

TheCommentator2244d ago

You were saying you'd rather pay for a remaster in native 4K than get the X enhancement for free, which to me doesn't seem to be a good value since their image quality is nearly identical. My point was, "To me the differences are night and day between the originals and the X1 enhanced versions, and I don't see any artifacts that suggest the 1X isn't producing a clean 4K image." One very similar to native 4K, IMO.

You said, "...let me tell you, after the crystal clarity of Skate 3 which was X enhanced, I COULD EASILY tell I was dealing with a sub 1080p image with Doom 3."

I think we're talking about the same things, TBH, but my OP wasn't very clear. Sorry about that!

red dead redemption .. that alone will make the xbox one x worth buying
the latest patch i think is a preparation to have some features that can be turned on and off from the emulator side such as increased resolution in any game with being able to turn off 4k mode in non enhanced games i would assume they would allow to bump resolution in non enhanced games

Looking Back to 2010 with Crackdown 2 - Agent of Mayhem

Darren writes: "“XBOX NEEDS EXCLUSIVES!”. Sound familiar? It’s something that has been ringing in my ears since becoming an Xbox gamer nearly 20 years ago. It’s possibly the longest standing and harshest criticism levelled against Microsoft’s console family, and I can’t say I wholly disagree. However, there are some out there which can slip through the net every now and then. But bucking the trend was the original Crackdown, which was not one of them. It shifted a very healthy amount of units as well as drawing in universal praise from critics. A sequel then, would be a no-brainer."

It was basically crackdown 1 with zombies, was fun but corners were cut, solid game though.

Minute Man 7211388d ago

I'm still playing this, activating the beacons is a pain in the ass

IRetrouk1388d ago

Collecting those orbs and upgrading your character were addictive, it was just a shame they played it safe instead of going all out, didnt take anything away from how fun the game is though.

Crackdown 1 was one of the underrated gems of last gen. I loved that game. Crackdown 2 was crackdown 1 with added zombies and gave the map a paint job. Disappointing, but still enjoyed it for what it was with the added wingsuit, toybox mode and 4 player co-op. Crackdown 3 was basically what Crackdown 2 should have been.

2 of the weakest graphical games

b163o11469d ago

Oh come on man, Out of all the games under M$.....really

King_Noctis1469d ago

Free is free. They could have done nothing and no one would have said anything.

So what’s the problem again?

xX-oldboy-Xx1469d ago

Sometimes it's better to do nothing, like in this case.

Or are they buttering people up for an xsx version of Crackdown 3? Re-Cracked perhaps?

King_Noctis1469d ago (Edited 1469d ago )

So let me get this straight, you think they are wrong for giving out free games to gamers?Do they force you to download the game? Are the free games expired after a set amount of time? Do they force people to buy an SX version of the game if it comes out?

You know I have seen many stupid comments over the year on this site, and yours is nearly on the top of that list, no offense.

xX-oldboy-Xx1469d ago

No they're not wrong - have at it. Just not a very worthwhile gesture. The games are old, average at best going by people's comments.

Have a crack mate, don't hold back - you couldn't upset or offend me if you tried.

And if you didn't pick up, the second part of my comment was in jest. But you lit are very defensive about ms and their pro-consumer attitude these days.

Lighten up champ - gonna be a long gen ahead haha

Casepb1470d ago

Crackdown 1 was always free.

isarai1470d ago

Yeah this, grabbed it like two years ago. Wish there was a way to play the X-enhanced version on PC

Stay at home initiative? Not everyone has Gamepass.

Ulf1470d ago

Crackdown 1 was a *great* game.

franwex1470d ago

Crackdown 1 was fun 13 years ago. Somewhat still fun today

Crackdown 2 sucks.

Crackdown 3 is like Crackdown 1, but with better graphics.

Play Crackdown 3. It’s a fun weekend game.

DARK_WOLF1470d ago

Crackdown 3 shouldv never existed. Of all the games microsoft couldve poured money into making they chose this.

Simply as a marketing game to show off their 'cloud' tech. Sure wasnt made for xbox fans but they tried to shove it down our throats for 5 years regardless.

No thanks.

Kribwalker1470d ago

agreed. crackdown 3 was a fun quick romp

Godmars2901470d ago

@DARK_WOLF:
CD3 exists as an attempt to showcase a version of cloud supported gaming. That said version fell apart is besides the point.

hamburgerhill1469d ago

I wish they would have just done a Crackdown 1 remake with extras instead of Crackdown 3. All those years wasted on a game that for me felt like anything but crack down.

Can’t complain about free games

Still hate what happened with Crackdown 3 though

Sciurus_vulgaris1835d ago

I'm pretty sure even Microsoft isn't pleased with Crackdown 3 either, as they went silent on it.
