This console generation was adapted by gamers a lot quicker than last generation.

PhoenixUp2799d ago

No just the PS4 has. Wii U and Xbox One have sold less than their predecessors for in the same timeframe

Obscure_Observer2799d ago (Edited 2799d ago )

@PhoenixUp

Same timeframe? Where´s the 2017 August gap chartz between the Xbox One and Xbox 360? Care to provide a link?

Xbox One sold more! According the last figures (May) the gap in favor of Xbox 360 was about 200k.

http://www.vgchartz.com/art...

That said, i remember the time when people used to say that Xbox 360 sold less than PS3 because the RROD. Now the these people tend to forget the RROD when it favors the Xbox One sales. Double standards at its finest.

Thatguy-3102799d ago (Edited 2799d ago )

ok and the ps4 is part of this console generation right??????

PhoenixUp2799d ago (Edited 2799d ago )

@ Obscure

VGC just posted the July 2017 update today and you're asking for where's the August 2017 article? 😑

The fact that Xbox 360 was ahead of Xbox One in the May 2017 VGC update is already proof of what I said. With that in mind idk why you'd think it would be different in the months that followed when the chart clearly shows that Xbox One sales have been on a downward trend recently.

You seem to forget the key difference here. Xbox One, just like the PS3, actually sold at a faster rate than Xbox 360 from day one even with its RROD inflating sales. However Xbox One, unlike PS3, actually fell behind Xbox 360 sales within its fourth year on the market.

Not to mention that PS3 Slim kicked the console's sales into overdrive while even with XO S on the market the console's sales are currently down YOY in the same fourth year timeframe.

So there are no double standards here.

@ Thatguy

I'm saying PS4 is the only platform this generation that sold faster than its last generation counterpart.

Every other 8th gen platform including 3DS, Vita, Wii U, & Xbox One has sold slower than their predecessors.

DigitalRaptor2799d ago (Edited 2799d ago )

@ PhoenixUp

His mind is "obscured". There's no place in reality that Xbox One has sold as fast as the Xbox 360 did in totality.

Fake numbers from a useless💩 site

MASTER_RAIDEN2798d ago

I've said the same thing for years now. Why do people discuss made up numbers from vgchartz on this site? It's nothing more than a worthless guess.

morganfell2798d ago

What's really laughable are people like obscure using vgchartz numbers to justify...vgchartz numbers.

1Victor2798d ago

I loose respect for anyone that uses vgc for reference

Obscure_Observer2798d ago

@morganfell
What´s even laughable, is that you are commenting on a vgchartz article pretending that you don´t care. Lol

The PS4 alone is almost even with the ps3 and 360 combined.

AizenSosuke2799d ago

PS4 alone is just super saiyan compared to the kaioken PS3 and Xbox 360.

yellowgerbil2799d ago

where's the ouya love? probably its the flat line at the bottom of the chart...

Will the PS5 Pro be the first console to exceed a $1k price tag?

PRIMORDUS1h ago

If that's true, Sony will sell less just like MS and Xbox raising prices they will have a lot more consoles unsold.

andy8542m ago

It's not gonna go up $350 😂

darthv722h ago

Like I said in the XB price increase... I'm glad I already got it when I did. And don't shy away from the 2nd hand markets. I see 5's going for around $300-400. Sometimes with a stack of games.

RCJvg2h ago

Obviously. Sony loves to increase prices

pwnmaster30006m ago

What company doesn’t?

Hate to sound like a hipster but I kind of miss when gaming was just for “kids” or “nerds”

anast1h ago

People are junkies. They will buy it anyway.

gold_drake1h ago

for those who want the pro, get it now.
