PSLS: "Is the Uncharted series over? That’s the question on the minds of many as Uncharted: The Lost Legacy releases this week. Naughty Dog’s series that made Nathan Drake a household name has now spanned a total of five console titles (with several handheld and mobile spin-offs to boot). So, is it time for Sony to move beyond the treasure tracking adventures that Uncharted is known for?
That’s why the question we posed in this week’s Now Loading was “should the Uncharted series end?”"
Modder 'Swiz19' has just shared an amazing mod for Uncharted The Lost Legacy that brings to its Lara Croft from the Tomb Raider series.
Because the recent Tomb Raider games haven’t been that good, so inject Lara into Uncharted and boom good “Tomb Raider” game. Can’t fault them. *shrugs*
Naughty Dog is changing. It’s about time, but part of fans will miss what the studio has become over the past fifteen years as a pioneer of cinematic blockbusters lined with prestige storytelling that the entire medium now tries to emulate. It changed everything. But now, it is both leaving Uncharted behind and has no plans for The Last of Us Part 3 unless the narrative it aims to deliver is absolutely necessary.
This is the right move, and the selfless one from a studio that could have milked both these properties until there was nothing left.
Yep . Another studio can make it if needed . If Sony wants to do it or not who knows ?
Uncharted 4 is by far the worst in the series, but I fear Naughty Dog is incapable of redeeming the franchise with another entry. Amy Hennig is gone and Neil Druckmann has more than proven he's not a storyteller.
India is a culturally rich and beautiful land which is a perfect setting for a video game. Here are some of the best games set in India.
It should keep going as long as Naughty Dog can tell a good story.
I think the series, as it currently stands, is one of the best overall in gaming. And I think we should leave it at that. It's had 5 fantastic games, with a standalone expansion about to release. I think it's time to move on. I'd like to see Naughty Dog flex their creative muscles and provide us with something fresh and new. They gave us Crash. They gave us Jak. They gave us Uncharted, and they gave us The Last of Us. I want to see what comes next.
It's Naughty Dog's longest running franchise that they kept active development in.
Only Sony would ever entertain the idea of letting a franchise as Uncharted go to rest when it's currently near its peak.
Should Ice Cream end?
