Pure PlayStation: Elite Dangerous is a unique game on the PS4. It gives prospective starship captains their own ship and turns them loose on the entire Milky Way galaxy and, if you have the Horizons expansion, many of the planets.
After hours of playing, I have still only begun to scratch the surface of what it offers, and I cannot wait to jump back into the cockpit of the Scooty Puff Jr. to keep exploring and running missions. If the idea of a ship and stars to guide her appeals to you, you should really try Elite Dangerous.
Today, the developers of Elite Dangerous at Frontier released a new update for the game with a brand-new ship front and center.
Frontier showcased the next ship that will come soon to Elite: Dangerous, the Gutamaya Corsair, also sharing details and a release date.
Seems a bit ridiculous that No Man's Sky was able to support all formats and this game couldn't. It didn't help that they were selling the game piece meal either. e.g. buy this expansion so you can walk on planets. I feel like the damage is done and they should probably shut the thing down.
The irony is No Man's Sky is what Elite used to be and can be played completely offline.
You can still get a good 200 to 300 hours out of it on console, but I agree with everything you posted. It's really a shame because I like the art so much better than NMS.
In a highly controversial decision developer Frontier has made the decision to allow players to buy ships with real money in their long running game Elite: Dangerous, sparking outrage amongst the community.
This game will inevitably take honors of the longest played game I've ever played. Already 200 plus hours in after the first 2 weeks of playing. 350 more hours to go and it will have outlasted TW3.. Brilliant game. Can't wait to see where it goes from here!
