Dude, I own a PS3 and 360. I'm a PC gamer and have been gaming way past 1080p for years. Had three 1080p monitors when the 7970 came out and moved to 4K when I got dual 290X's back in 2014.

So no, doesn't suck for me, sorry. Also 1080p on the PS4 was pretty damn good since it hadn't happened yet in the console space and, yeah, the X1 didn't do it as often which made the PS4 stand out more as a result (it is one of the main reasons the PS4 took off so well).

So yeah, people need to calm down. The power differences between the PS4 and X1 were said to be vast but in the end most games looked the same over all. PS4 Pro and Scorpio are most likely going to be more of the same.

I mean lets be real, when people say no games they are being over dramatic for sensationalism but the truth is when you compare it with PS4 it's a poor showing. This year already PS4 has had around two dozen retail exclusives many of which have been game of the year contenders compared to Microsoft which has had one game Halo Wars which didn't even crack an 80 meta and will be forgotten by the time goty time rolls around.

So saying Xbox ain't got no game... is hard to disagree with.

Take Scorpio out of the picture and you have 1600 games with over 3x the exclusives way better variety and last years undisputed game of the year and all the GOTY contenders PS4 has had this year.

Power isn't that important, games are... Persona 5, huge GOTY contender is a PS3 game. Graphics aren't as important as games for a "game" console.

Ok Ashlen then keep your game of the year contender while i enjoy the most powerful console ever created (not a jab at playstation) with games i like this holiday. All the goty or sales talk in the world wouldnt change my view or hype for the Scorpio. Games are said to be coming and regardless of the scores I'm sure MS will deliver rare experiences not found or capable on any other console platform. Wait for E3 and really get your feelings hurt. Its definitely all about games but its even more about the total experience. Sony is a force to be reckoned with but so is MS. Let's just all get along now instead of eating crow later. Personally i want to see them both keep pushing gaming forward and can't wait for E3.

or you could take scorpio and have over 1,000 games that play better, along with over 350 xbox 360 games that play better on scorpio and also have 100's of games that aren't on the ps4 such as forza horizon 3, the best racing/arcade racer out there. also new games like sea of thieves that looks amazing. but hey, its their choice so why do you care if they buy a scorpio or a ps4 so much? you took the time to come here so why if all you want to do is sell the ps4 in a scorpio topic?

No, that's incorrect.

2016 PS4 had around 4x as many exclusives. In 2015 it had almost 3x as many exclusives. in 2014 they had almost double the exclusives. While PS4 has had more games year after year Xbox has had less and less.

And PS4 has had indies from the get go unlike MS who insisted that all developers have a publisher and still enforced the parity clause that they wouldn't accept games that came out on a rival system first.

Which interestingly enough, I power on my Xbox everyday, because it's part of my entertainment center, but I haven't been able to game on any console for a while. My son plays the most, but the games he is permitted to play are on both consoles. ....but ps4 was sparse for the better part of 2 years after launch, its a matter of opinion and of course there were games, but it was dominated by indie games and no huge AAA releases that the majority of ps fans are used to. I mean you can quickly Google tons of ps4 centric forums related to "ps4 has no games", "sony's relying heavily on indie games", circa 2014-2015. lol, even Sony themselves admitted their exclusive lineup for 2015 was "sparse".

-Again it's subjective but during that timeframe X1 was generally releasing better exclusives, as evident that even on this site the chatter was mostly about ps4 sales and X1 missteps from launch, definitely not because it didn't have games. IMO, since last gen its always be cyclic, there's periods where Xbox has had a better year in terms of game releases and periods where of course ps4 has had better years. I am 100% convinced that the reason that reason RIGHT NOW some are saying w Xbox has no games is just because as of late ps4 has released some big gun AAA exclusives games AND of course it came at a time when Xbox hasnt released any much this year, well except for Halo Wars which is the best RTS on a console imo. PLUS of course its really bad timing when a couple of very much anticipated games are canceled, it always leave a sour note of doubt, until of course you deliver. #2 ps brand just has MORE fans and loyal fans generally quickly forget the sparse times when a company delivers a few great games they've been looking forward to, and typically those same fans yell "no games" at the competition, it goes both ways. Although I try to stay out of the "tit for tat" stuff, either way I need no sympathy, because I understand that's just how it's always going to be for some gamers and most importantly I'm confident more great Xbox games are on the way.

It's odd that they cant wait to play in 4K, yet you can already play Forza and Gears in 4K on a PC, very odd. And this is the issue with this Windows crossover, you already know what they will look and play like on the Scorpio becasue they are already out on PC.
The article really should be about the games they can not wait to play on Xbox, regardless of resolution or power, but of course that's when the problems get highlighted, there is nothing exclusive to Xbox. You can already see the future of Xbox, its called a PC.

These are the two games I always fall for. And once I play them i totally regret it. Same every year. What about really new IPs? QB didn't sell, for whatever reason. Ryse didn't sell for whatever. Games like this I would like to see more and again.

- No, not odd at all because of 2 BIG reasons, #1 there us a large segment of hardcore gamers like myself who can afford a high end pc but STILL PREFER the console environment. #2 There is a even larger segment of causal gamers who will always wait for the cheaper console hardware for their next gen gaming (in this case mid gen), like the same ones who got a ps4pro a backbin November. NOW, don't forget about the hardcore and casual fans who want to play Xbox AND multiplat games in native 4K, WITHOUT spending $1000 or more on the hardware itself, especially when a year later 4K sets are much cheaper= For these folks Scorpio will no doubt be the cheapest option to play the most native 4K games, likely for the next 2-3 years until the inevitable launch of ps5. -But hey don't take my word for it, Forbes analyzed the cost comparison here:

So yes your post is mostly flawed thinking because of the two factors I mentioned above are quite significant which is why consoles are NOT competing directly with pc.
Think if it like this: cellphones/tablets=economy & non luxury cars(Honda Civic), consoles=luxury & mid range sport cars(Porsche), pc's=high end luxury cars(Lamborghini). Hell, and in most cases the experts at places like pc world recommend hardware that costs $1,500+ for native 4k 60fps pc gaming.

Meh I just got my 1080Ti which is almost 2x as powerful as Scorpio's GPU in Tflops, and i still aint going 4K.. GPU power aint there yet to hold a solid 60fps with little/no dips maxed out, especially not in multiplayer. Staying 1440p 165hz for a while, way smoother than 60hz anyway.

With a GTX1080Ti you should hit 4K 60fps with no problem in most games. If you can't then you got a bottleneck somewhere.

That's what many don't realize - even with the most powerful hardware 4k gaming is not quite there yet, the current HDMI spec doesn't even support 4k HDR gaming in 60fps. I already see the usual Xbox dudebros running to buy a cheap 4k set and getting disappointed because it isn't the huge leap they were expecting.

Absolutely 1440. I have seen a AAA game running at 4k & half the settings were either low or off to achieve 4k/60. Id rather all the graphics on ultra at 1440p than low/off at 4k anyday. I don't want 30fps gaming whatever the resolution.

Its not even about going 100+. Even if you are in the 70's and 80's with some games there is a difference. I have played a few AAA games in the 100s. and 100+hz monitors are great for more than just gaming. No screen ever looks the same once you see a 100+fps screen.

i plan on getting a scorpio and a hdr10 4k 60" tv later this year and can't wait to see what games like rdr2, battlefront 2, cod ww2, shadow of war. crackdown 3 and motorsport 7 look like as well as games i already own like gears 4 and horizon 3 and ryse

Most will be 4K 30fps. Some will be below 2160p and upscalled. And some will manage 4K 60 fps. But just as rare as 60 fps games are today on XBO/PS4 most likely.

Because massively upgrading the triangle/object count and shader power is still not enough with the power we have today. 4K has quite some impact, though and is what we have today. That "next next gen" visuals is, aeh, reserved for the next next gen.

Because a unlocked frame rate is not a good way to play games. It makes it feel much worse then if they just locked it.

I would pick 4K HDR 30 fps over 1080p 60 fps in most games. The exception is twitch based shooters. I have a hard time playing 1080p titles after going for 4K with my PC and some dynamic 4K games on the PS4Pro.
