I don't see this as a downgrade - these kinds of demos are always done on high-end PC hardware.

did we watch the same video?, apart from the first 20 seconds with the train the rest was better on the retail than the E3 version i thought - Better lighting as well

just by looking at the screen above, you can tell that the retail version looks flat lighting/shadow wise...how is that better lighting?

Goodbye shadows. Biggest difference as well as some texture downgrades that aren't major but noticeable.

how do you know the PC version was downgraded? Because this comparison is between E3 and PS4 and the downgrade is not that pronounced. It's mostly lighting and effects like reflections. Usually consoles settingw are the equivalent of PC's medium settings. And then there's 4k and higher frame-rate too.

I heard from these developers last year that the PC version is going to have graphical features you can't find on consoles, the PC version is going to be the best version. What you see in this PS4 version is all you going to get. Its not a downgrade its just the console version.

I dont know that dues ex has been downgraded but im sure it has, I just made a general statement about hating that the pc versions of games do get downgraded and not pushed to their full potential. Go look at the screenshots on steam for no mans sky, those screenshots are far superior to how no man sky looks maxed out. So yes pc games get downgraded all the time and I only want them to give pc its due credit of having more power instead making it seem like pc is only a tad more powerful than these consoles.

Just because a dev says the pc version will have graphical features you cant find on consoles doesnt mean to much. Take no mans sky which has graphical options that even at max dont really do anything for the game. AC black flag which had plenty of graphical features and yet the pc version looked identical. Rarely do we see games on pc and consoles pushed to the max on pc but we always see them pushed on consoles. So the question is do they do this just to act like console is close to the graphical level of pc's or to make sure that console players wont move to pc where games are far cheaper?

Well, the E3 presentation was likely on PC. I can only hope PC version doesn't suffer the same.

The image seems a bit sharper in the new version, but there's a noticeable decrease in shadow quality, textures, reflections, and ambient occlusion.

These presentations are always on PC, even the exclusives. That's why on release the games seem downgraded when you finally see them running on consoles.

Looks like the biggest change is the lighting. Which is unfortunate, as it can have a huge impact on how a game looks. Just about everything else looks just as good though.

You don't remember what ps3 games look like do you? Go back and look at DX:HR or even The Last of Us (one of the best looking games on the PS3) and compare it to this. I'm telling you..people talk, but they forget.

Retail looks better, subsurface scattering on the skin, e3 version looks dead. Better/clearer textures in retail. no weird blur fx in retail. And they got rid of the hollywood highlights on the hair that was on the e3 demo, it reminded me of the hair in the kim kardashian game.
