for no fing reason i m buying digital Ps2 games that i already own ...damn Sony develop a proper disc based emulator and not this digital thievery

Alucardx033485d ago

I think it's pretty crazy that the PS2 Classics, purchased on the PS3, don't transfer over here. That's a pretty big insult to those that plopped down money last generation.

blackblades3485d ago

If they did that then there weren't be any triphies or ps4 features.

Yetter3485d ago

why not? put in the disc and it downloads the game for you from PSN. Thats how XB does it

thelaughingwiseman3485d ago

To me, it's not worth it. Too pricey, transactions don't cross over from my PS3. I just hope that Sony doesn't hinder me from playing games I acquired from the store when they shut down the PSN for PS3.

Alucardx033485d ago

Yeah, that's my biggest barrier to digital distribution. I'm very worried my games will disappear into the ether in the next ten years, though the convenience outweighs the risks for me. I'm not understanding Sony's pricing structure on these games either.

I'm sure a ton of work went into getting this emulation to work so well. Regardless $5 - $12 per game would feel much better. Seriously hope Metal Gear, Socom, Killzone, ICO, etc., make it.

Socon2 would be epic for me and alot of people!! Just hope the online portion would be there, but id still pay $10 to play the campaign.

"I'm sure a ton of work went into getting this emulation to work so well."

Please don't try to find them excuses, I'm pretty sure they had this well planned for a long time now and wasn't that hard for them. They just waited for the "right" time (a.k.a. introduction of BC on microsoft)

Just not taking it for granted. My only issue with the service is the pricing.

Wish it was a remaster or something at least... Still, one of my favorite RPGs out there, so I'll most likely buy it anyway just to show support.

DigitalRaptor3326d ago (Edited 3326d ago )

The most exciting thing about seeing these games being gradually announced, is that it pretty much confirms that Primal, Siren and Ape Escape 3 are also coming to PS4. From this ESRB rating: http://n4g.com/news/1840395...

Love me some Ape Escape.

fenome3325d ago

Right on, I'll buy it. Hopefully they make a new one.

Fist4achin3325d ago

I haven't tried any of the Wild Arms series. Is it any good? It has always looked appealing.

Feriku3325d ago

Wild Arms 3 is one of my favorite JRPGs ever. I think it's fantastic.

PlayStation 2: From A to Z – The Letter “W”

Drew Leachman writes: The From A to Z series lets our editors go back and take a look at games from past generations that are classics, overlooked gems, or just titles they remember fondly. The idea behind this is to pick five games from each letter of the alphabet, once a week to showcase. This delivers 26 weeks and 130 games to talk about. Hopefully it sparks some conversation, and of course plenty of memories.

Our second series will focus on Sony’s sophomore entry into the console business, the PlayStation 2.

Let’s continue with the letter “W”.
