Well given how Spring is loaded with more games than this holiday season, it figures that some would eventually be pushed back to avoid getting lost in the shuffle.

Considering how Deus Ex: Human Revolution was very noticeably rushed to market however, I think giving Mankind Divided more time in the oven can only be a good thing. The game has looked great in every gameplay demo so far so even more care put into it on top of that can only be a good thing, right? It's certainly preferable to the alternative, at least.

How DigitalFoundry going to debunk DX12 myth if multiplatform AAA games that use DX12 on X1 keeps getting delay?

DAMN !!!

This is not nice at all.

The new release date is pretty terrible.
I will never, ever play a game like that during the summer ...

every year more and more games keep getting delayed. this industry has no control at all. it's hilarious.

But when they don't get delayed they can end up lacking in features or with glitches. It's a double edged sword.

But it's good that they want to make it even more fantastic instead of rushing it.

Also lots of games coming early next year anyway :)...

Absolutely. It's among my most anticipated for 2016.

It is a big delay, but I can see where they're coming with this, I'm all for a better more stable maybe more content complete game, a 6 months delay is plenty of time to get their game complete.

And on a personal note, Deus Ex: Human Revolution was for me one of the better games of the last generation, was really surprised at how good it was, wasn't anticipating that game at all (got it on Ps+), but i'm definitely anticipating this one.

Square don't went to get stung by the same bee that got Tomb Raider. Overcrowding is a big issue.

Downgrading starts..................Again.

Crimzon1117d ago

I really hope not :( The game looks wonderful and it would be a shame to see it scaled-back like so many others.

TwoForce1117d ago

It's not going happen. But i do understand your fear, i blame Ubisoft for their excuse of Watch Dogs. I can not forget how Downgraded Watch Dogs was.

audiocafe1117d ago

I hope not, but it wouldn't surprise me

Was reading over on GAF, that they're using the 'Hitman' engine and things aren't progressing as foreseen, hence the now 6 month delay.

Crimzon1117d ago

That's weird if so, because I would have thought that they'd stick with Unreal Engine. It's bizarre how many franchises have moved away from that, and I have to wonder if it's even worth it.

Dishonored 2 won't be using Unreal Engine like the original game either, the developers for that are jumping over to IDTech 5/6 for the sequel, and I'm paranoid that so many developers jumping over to brand new tech rather than sticking with what they know is only going to cause problems down the line. It's particularly worrisome for me since Dishonored 2 and Deus Ex: Mankind Divided are two of my most anticipated games.

Eidos Montreal annouced back in December last year that they were using their in house engine called Dawn to develop Deus Ex Mankind Divided.

Dawn engine is based on a heavily modified version of IO Interactive’s Glacier 2 engine.
