The Witcher 3: Hearts Of Stone Review - GamerKnights

the boys over at GamerKnights have done a full in depth review of the new DLC "Hearts of Stone" for the excellent "The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt".

"Hearts of Stone is an unmissable addition to an unmissable game. If you weren’t bothered with the Witcher 3 earlier this year, nothing here will sway you. It is more of the same. This is just the reason I loved Hearts of Stone so much, however. If you too loved the original release, there is no reason not to pick this modestly priced expansion up. It adds a bunch of excellent new content to the already overly-generous title, and all of it is worth experiencing. Throw in a wicked story and some great characters and Hearts of Stone is a serious contender for some of the best DLC to date, period."

I just tried to start the expansion last night. I had to finish the White Orchard prologue in NG+ to unlock the Hearts of Stone missions because I didn't want to go with either of the other two options that they listed. Using a pre-made character build, or just the expansion, with no access to any main story quests. I finished the prologue and made it to hang man's tree, which unlocked the first quest, but the suggested level for it was 62?!?! The in game title screen said that if you went with the pre-made build option that Geralt would be leveled sufficiently for the expansion at level 32. My Geralt is level 38. I don't understand why the suggested level was so high. Is it a bug?

andresegr3490d ago

Its because you are playing it in New Game Plus. Everything is more difficult in that mode, and the required level to use weapons and armors is waaay higher.

You should have stayed with the regular save profile.

Kingdomcome2473490d ago (Edited 3490d ago )

I didn't see an option for that. It was either use the pre-made build, or play just the expansion. Is playing just the expansion option what you're talking about?

My feedback is I won't click on your link now out of spite as I don't appreciate anyone who attempts to flaunt your home-created website. I wish you the best but will not click simply because you are asking for my click.

Don't try so hard, it comes off poorly.

FunkyGoron3490d ago

Just release your content and be happy about it. Don't ask me to click on it just so I can tell you what was wrong with it. Probably the people who have multiple accounts to post and up-vote their own site.

There's enough garbage getting approved anyways, don't need more of it.

nowitzki20043490d ago

They are asking for feedback to help their site improve. Asking from people who read the article, if you chose not to read then obviously you cant give good feedback.

I respect that they are on a gaming site like N4G where gamers are and asking us what we think. Seems like they are for the gamers.

Site looks good too, and they have to be better than IGN.

Grap3490d ago

Anyway i really dislike your background, it's really distracting from the text.

GamerKnights3490d ago

@FunkyGoron, you are absolutely not funky. Ehm where in the hell do I ask your click? If you want to read our review read it, if not DO NOT!

Home-created. what do you think the majority of these gaming websites are???

It's not all IGN, Gamespot, Eurogamer etc etc.

Besides... on the garbage ... I'm pleased to say that all the publishers like our garbage otherwise they won't be sending us any review copies. doh!

FunkyGoron3490d ago

Wow, holy shit you got an early copy of an expansion and a PC game to review? I take back everything I say, your site rocks man.

I'd rather read an actual article than some guy in a basement's opinion. Most people don't like much gaming journalism but there are good writers and reviewers out there and I am glad they don't peddle their site like you do.

GamerKnights3490d ago

@ Grap, would it be better with a non-white text?

Without Senator Armstrong from Metal Gear Rising Revengeance this list is just 10 bosses fighting for second place. That whole boss fight is a journey in insanity. By the time I got to the end I was felt like I had just dropped acid and ran a marathon.

That god of war stranger fight was, to me, one of the best openers to a game that I can remember. That whole game just rocked so damn hard. Little off topic but I used to get drunk and fight with my wife, it always felt like a boss fight to me, and epic boss fight that Always ended with me “beating” the game..... by myself

BoredDemon1952d ago

since God of War 3 was released in 2010; Hades fight should be counted

NecrumOddBoy1952d ago

I think the Poseidon battle should be in here. Also, why is BOTW on here?
