Ouch . According to PC players that’s everyone

LordoftheCritics1300d ago

According to console players...oh wait its not on consoles.

jznrpg1300d ago (Edited 1300d ago )

It’s not like I can’t buy a PC but MMOs are time killers and I’m not a kid with 10 hours a day to play games . I did it back with EQ and nothing will ever compare to the difficulty of that game because casuals are chased now so I couldn’t care less about this PC game that melts graphic cards . I’m happy with my mediocre pc that played 3 games in past 5 years and my PS5 and Switch . Maybe someday I’ll buy a PC again . You know you mainly see PC players saying they have 3080/90 with 128GB ram etc etc etc .

VENOM OF SINS1300d ago

We didn’t want that shit

IanTH1300d ago

I don't understand the initial comment - obviously there is a hue and cry about how hard it is to get a hold of new GPUs right now - nor any of the following consolve vs PC nonsense. Is this game really something worthy of causing headbutting between these crowds? It's pretty dumb in any scenario, but I'm extra confused here lol.

TheHan1299d ago

Well when every game goes to PC, you can’t help how console players may feel towards some of the PC gaming community and their toxicity that they bring with them, ruining some games. So some console gamers may be a bit defensive. Can’t blame them.

phoenixwing1300d ago

This is kind of ridiculous for a game to release in this state. Not even the worst of Chinese games bricks your graphics card. Amazon showing just how much they're amateurs

Andrew3361300d ago (Edited 1300d ago )

What are you even talking about. The game doesn't brick anything, the poor quality of the parts used by evga and giga are the problem. Do you think EVGA is replacing cards out of the kindness of their hearts?

NovusTerminus1300d ago

And the Zotac, MSI, and Gigabyte cards dying from it as well? JayzTwoCents did a video about it showcasing it is NOT an EVGA problem.

ChiefofLoliPolice1300d ago

I don't think so. I have been using EVGA for almpst 10 years and never even once had any issue out of them.

Redlife2g1300d ago

Wrong. It's happening with other manufacturers.. Not just evga.

Fluttershy771299d ago

The News article you are commenting upon its about the game bricking your card, is not a Fake News in the sense that is everywhere right now, it could be false of course but it doesn't matter really, a lot of people won't get the game just in case.
You are treating phoenixwing like he just said the craziest thing ever and this is what the article is about...

There is supposed to be safe guards in place to prevent this from the GPU manufacturers, when this happened to EVGA cards they admitted it was there fault. https://www.pcgamer.com/evg...

The same thing could be true here.

NotoriousWhiz1300d ago

I don't think it's the game's fault if the hardware breaks lol. Software shouldn't be capable of breaking hardware.

Seraphim1299d ago (Edited 1299d ago )

the problem is that software can break your hardware. Is that the case here? we will see. The fact that it's happening to numerous manufacturers 30 series seem to point toward how the code in the software was written. Hopefully, over time an exact issue will be pinpointed.

kneon1299d ago

This indicates a design flaw in the hardware/firmware. user code should not have access to any functionality that would brick the board

ABizzel11299d ago

Gigabyte needs to do a complete redo of their entire lineup. First their power supplies, not GPUs. They're going to get sued.

I'm glad I didn't get this game yet. I'm just wondering, is it only gigabyte? I have an Asus RTX3080

LordoftheCritics1300d ago (Edited 1300d ago )

Asus rtx 3070 here.

I think its a gigabyte issue. Their everything is breaking apart lately.

Earlier it was EVGA.

Asus is king.

jznrpg1300d ago

Wait until the next patch . They will go after Asus next .

/s

TechRaptor1300d ago

EVGA still has run into a couple but they have an RMA process that includes "New World issue" now and people expect it.

Gigabyte hasn't done any thing and so the issue is revealing more of their issues. Assuming the Gigabyte issue is the same as the EVGA one - it was based on construction quality and things like that. The game presses hard and if the manufacturing has an issue it seems to be coming out.

I haven't heard of an ASUS issue with it as of now.

porkChop1300d ago

Ok wtf. They had this problem in the beta. How have they not fixed it yet?

LordoftheCritics1300d ago

In case it breaks, you can buy another gpu via Amazon ofc.
