On every single video footage I've seen when comparing *audio only - Project CARS is way ahead of Assetto Corsa.
Assetto Corsa has a lot of muffled and over-powering bass.
Project CARS got it right with the sound mixing. The rattle, shakes and whoosh of the engine can clearly be heard along with the accompanying background noise - wind, tire roar/braking
I actually think Project Cars sounds better.
But it still doesn't beat Driveclub, which has the best sound in a racing game yet. Well, they did record in high fidelity each car themselves, inside and outside the cars actually. You can't beat that tech.
