Did You Notice The Crew and Watch_Dogs Striking Similarities?

The Crew Beta testing was demo'd a few days ago via TwitchTV 's channel, where PS4.sx noticed some very striking similarities between it and Watch_Dogs gameplay driving mechanics.

patelsanjeed3562d ago

OMG! I thought I was the only one who spotted this. i literally thought I was watching Watch_Dogs without Aiden. Now it makes sense since both games are made by Ubisoft.

henrythomas2843562d ago

Thats's why i am saving my money for project cars :)

opproject3562d ago

@henrythomas284
u mean for DRIVECLUB, project cars is a fail too

jimbobbeers3562d ago

@opproject

No, I'm pretty sure he said Project Cars.

I'm saving mine for Forza Horizon 2 and then The Crew.

Prime1573562d ago

Yeah, I thought watch dog's driving was stiff and physics were... off. I recognize they might look the same, but it comes down to how they feel.

I hope they feel different from watch dogs.

"both games are made by Ubisoft."
No,
The Crew made by studio called ivory tower
Ubisoft is publisher

EdnaJones973562d ago

The comparison video is so similar its a joke. I don't know if a supposed next gen driving game like The Crew should look so similar to Watch_Dogs driving visuals since this was most peoples biggest complaint about the game.

alvinmiller923562d ago

I actually liked Watch_Dogs driving. It reminded me of PS2 classics like Driver.

Frankskint3562d ago

LMAO! I think a title set for PS4, Xbox One and PC getting compared to PS2 classics doesn't sound like a good thing, which ever way you look at it.

dcj05243562d ago

He's talking gameplay not graphics.

@ Frankskint
Oh dear me. How close minded can one be ?

MysticStrummer3562d ago

It reminded me of Driver visually, which was ok back then but terrible now. I know the scope of The Crew is much bigger, but I was shocked at how it looked.

tee_bag2423561d ago

I agree. The driving engine was very much like the old Driver series - even the PS1 original. I didn't mind the driving engine in Watchdogs either. Not sure why people don't like it. The only thing I dislike is the hand brake dis-engages power to the wheels bizarrely.
Having said that, owning Watchdogs I feel like I've already played this game.

charliewong9803562d ago

I don't see the similarities at all, maybe just the beginning when they where selecting the map at the start.

lisamorgan43562d ago

May I suggest spec savers two for one deals on stylish designer glasses for less. LMAO.

Master-H3562d ago

Ubisoft and driving mechanics just don't go hand to hand, i tried the latest Driver game at a friend's the other day, driving was atrocious.

Wait. I don't get it. I reported on something that I recently noticed. I did mention in my article that I wouldn't have noticed if I hadn't gone to play The Division 2. That said, if this was nearly a week ago, I wouldn't know, as NO ONE REPORTED ON IT! Not IGN. Not Gamespot. Not Kotaku. No one.

You got people here complaining that there are any real gaming journalists and game journalism sucks, but when someone is acting, doing something to make something known to the public about what a company is doing. What do you do? You poke fun at it. What is it that people want? Do you want to complain for the sake of it? Or do you actually want people to do something to make those who aren't in the know aware of the shady stuff that's happening and to sound the alarm?

ravens5213d ago

It's the "oh well" setting in on digital users. They don't care they don't own their stuff for some odd reason. 🤷🏽.

FullmetalRoyale13d ago

Good for you! People sometimes just feel the need to show how little they actually have to say. Very respectful dressing down, btw, which is another thing we need more of.

I appreciate your article,
- "If this isn’t considered both a “WTF” moment and setting a dangerous precedent, I don’t know what else it would be"
- "it could also signal other publishers that removing games from our accounts would be okay"
- "Maybe those firmly against this digital future have a point after all"
- "This. Is. Fucked. Up."

As someone against an only-digital/streaming future for entertainment content (movies/TV shows/games/books), it feels like talking into a void about the points above on this website, or on Twitter, or with my friends, etc. People don't get it. I'm strongly contemplating whether this will be my last generation of PlayStation & Xbox consoles (I'm confident enough that Nintendo's next system will still support physical media and that their 1st-party games won't have online-required installation or usage restrictions).

He is one of the long running trolls of this site, he never says anything positive. Every single one of his posts are either incorrect or flat out stupid. Pay him no mind.

Thank you @shadowhaxor, we appreciate you.

Yet people will sit here and still say that digital is better 🙃

Welcome to the era where you no longer own your games.

gvrd001913d ago (Edited 13d ago )

I'm so done with Ubisoft, removing games one paid for is a new low...
Bye Ubisoft,
You've done f#c*ed it up !

Chocoburger13d ago

This was me 9 years ago, when I realized all they wanted to make were filler boring games that are packed with micro-trash-actions.

Snooze! Moving on from Ubi-junk!

vTuro2413d ago

I see they're trying their best to surpass Activision Blizzard for being the most hated gaming company. Keep at it, Ubisoft, I believe!
