Grant from Denkiphile: "We recently took a field trip to Gallery Nucleus in Southern California for the Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster art gallery and on display were several pieces of game-related art which included concept art, screenshots, and a live painting of Yuna and Tidus. During the event, Director Yoshinori Kitase and Art Director Yusuke Naora were in attendance to answer several questions from the press."
Eurogamer speaks to Final Fantasy series producer Yoshinori Kitase about the impact the PlayStation 1 had on Final Fantasy 7 and beyond, for PlayStation's 30th.
In the latest issue of Edge Magazine (issue 405), the developers of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth look back on the making of Final Fantasy 7's shift into an open-world RPG while offering some thoughts on how they managed to make two massive RPGs about remaking the classic game.
Looking back on Rebirth, lead producer Yoshinori Kitase (who was also the director of the original FF7) spoke about the impact the 1997 game has had, even adding that "so many of the original game's fans now work in the industry." One of the things the developers credit for keeping the Remake saga on track is a special creative committee within Square Enix that guides the story and experience.
I wouldn’t say they messed anything up, it’s good and well made but, I still prefer the original.
I’d have taken a more direct, less ambitious remake than some sort of sequel which deals with trying to change events and the whispers of fate bulls**t over 3 games.
I even felt Rebirth really screwed up Aeriths iconic moment at the end. Sucked all the emotional aspect out of it for being far too flashy and over the top.
Idk, still feel mixed about the remakes. I mean, better than an absolute mess I guess. I like em but it still feels like...an odd fan's fanfic.
i love timeline shit, especially what they did with Sephiroth being the fking master of manipulation. it was very well done.
and people are still making theories about it, i love it
one gripe i have was the english translation, its a mess, im glad i played it in a different language the second run.
I absolutely love that they gave us something New with Rebirth and Remake. I played everything about 7 since 97 that’s nearly 30 years of me playing that variation with movies too.
Remake and Rebirth gave me that world in a fresh view and nice spin on the story.
The city of the ancients added so much to the calamity of Jenova and explained so much on why there even was bangles and swords without slots. Never REALLY payed attention to how much borrowed power was being used by the main cast and people.
I loved the original but that love wasn't solely for the story , I loved the combat and materia system, the way it opened up after Midgar, the characters, the minigames and the awww of graphics it displayed at the time of their respective releases . The re:games are amazing and just reenforced all those things I liked about it while still keeping the story fresh .I like that it wasn't a 1:1 as they couldn't have incorporated the lore that was established in the FF7 Compilation if it was. Rebirth has one of my favorite battle systems
At the G-STAR 2024 conference "G-CON 2024," Square Enix's Yoshinori Kitase and Naoki Hamaguchi gave a talk on "FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE" (FF7R), entitled "FINAL FANTASY VII: The challenges of creating a timeless game and its remake project.
I'm assuming they will remove fast travel if that's the case? I always wondered what the point of the airship would be if you can just fast travel like in Rebirth.
I’ve been playing dragon quest 3 remake. As i’m playing it, it’s making me wonder, “why didn’t square enix remake FF7 the way they dis to dragon quest?”
Yoshinori Kitase probably developing Final Fantasy 16.
