Titanfall Review: Fresh, Innovative and Ridiculously Fun - Game Insider

There are many things to like about Titanfall, from it’s slick gameplay to its incredible level design. The core concept is having two vastly different character types to play as: Pilot and Titan. While this idea is fresh enough in its own right, add in the parkour elements and double jump mechanic, and this game feels like something altogether new. In fact, the feel of this game is the most remarkable part of the entire experience.

Waiting to pick this up on 360, hope the port is relatively decent.

lets be real... this really is nothing more than CoD with wallruns and robots... it just that folks are so sick and tired of CoD that ANYTHING new is welcomed and praised..

Eh I felt the same way when I saw the E3 reveal. If you looked back on my comment history I was always saying there was way too much hype for Titanfall, but after seeing more and more gameplay I reckon it is far enough away from COD so it feels fresh. I mean, it is created by the original makers of COD 4 so of course it is going to have similar elements, but the mech vs pilot vs ai balance is a very unique aspect to the game that hasn't been fully implemented into another game before.

Also on another note, somewhat unrelated, I hate how everyone keeps saying Titanfall is too overpriced for a multiplayer only game. If you pay $80 for single player only game like Skyrim and plug 100 hours into it, everyone is happy. But if you pay $80 for a multiplayer game and plug 100+ hours into it, then that is NOT okay? It doesn't make any sense to me, but N4G rarely does these days....

They are both arcade FPSs, of coarse they'd be similar.

Hey, your favorite game is just like another game in its genre with a different title. -_-

Another great review. I was unsure what the reviews would be like, Microsoft must be really pleased.

Loving this game so far! It's so refreshing to play a MP FPS that's actually fun and feels new for once.

Amazing game can't stop playing super additive.

I spend more time exploring the roof tops than I do killing the enemy. I don't care for Attrition but I'm liking domination.

beta was fun but i got bored of just 2 maps .
im glad its getting good scores though but i cant help saying over and over again that EA screwed up over exclusive rights.
it Wont get the console sales they hope for but it will help.

Although the late 2000s Turok wasn't my favorite, I would love a new entry. Open world survival with shotguns and dinosaurs. Not sure how we'd get the fusion cannon, but that would be pretty sweet too.

Lol

All of these games are pretty much universally praised. Outside of Timeshift I literally own all of these.

XIII, The Darkness 2, Far Cry: Blood Dragon, Timesplitters: future perfect, Bulletstorm are awesome games

I played them all, they are all good in their own way

An ode to Titanfall: The last twitch shooter I'll probably ever enjoy

Windows Central: "Titanfall 1 is being sunset, taken off storefronts by EA. While the servers remain live for now, one has to wonder just how much time it has left. I look back and pay tribute to the last "twitch"-styled shooter I ever truly loved."
