Titanfall's matchmaking has its problems, but Respawn's working on it

For many of us that have already sunk hours upon hours of play into Titanfall, one of the game's most obvious issues has been its unbalanced matchmaking.

Players are often teamed up with low-ranked players comparative to the other team, where a party of highly-ranked players can easily out-rank the opposition.

The game doesn't re-balance squads to keep things even, meaning you could enter a match with new players while the other team is stacked with refined weaponry and powerful titans.

Developer Respawn knows about this issue, and is looking to address it.

The main problem I see with it is that it refuses to mix the teams up. For instance today me and some pugs ran train on a team... often winning by a 90% margin, but the game would not swap players around to balance things out. This continued for 4 games in a row until eventually the enemy team quit.

SaffronCurse4096d ago

God I hate when that happens. Needs to balance out after each game.

At least respawn is working to first unlike EA's other company hmmm Battlefield 4 cough*

adorie4096d ago

Not at least. Respawn working on fixing the problems so that future buyers who are more fickle, will enjoy a seamless experience. Titanfall really is a fun game and gives you a sense of freedom when roaming the maps and scailling walls.

Respawn being pro-active shows their commitment to the game and it's existing community of players.

Blame ea for wanting bf4 out before cod not dice...

And bf4 is twice the game titanfall is from a technical stand point!

Godmars2904096d ago

So basically the guys who where expected to reinvent the wheel have run into the same exact problem everyone before them has, and like everyone before them, they've promised to fix it. With the added caveat that they're pretty much performing like any other studio that's worked with EA.

n4rc4096d ago

Well..

The obvious problem is parties.. On any given night, we have 5-6 guys playing and we naturally want to play together..

Which means our team stays intact no matter what the other team does

Clown_Syndr0me4096d ago

I don't understand why games are released without party systems. Theyve been around long enough and they are important.
That and the fact the teams don't mix are the only things Ive noticed that Id change so far!

DFogz4096d ago

Titanfall has a party system...

Clown_Syndr0me4096d ago (Edited 4096d ago )

My bad! I'm an idiot sometimes lol.

Play2Win4096d ago

Every round is freaking fun on PC. They need to fix things like screen tearing for example. It's simple but feels so epic the game.

Although the late 2000s Turok wasn't my favorite, I would love a new entry. Open world survival with shotguns and dinosaurs. Not sure how we'd get the fusion cannon, but that would be pretty sweet too.

MadLad995d ago

Lol

All of these games are pretty much universally praised. Outside of Timeshift I literally own all of these.

Venoxn4g995d ago (Edited 995d ago )

XIII, The Darkness 2, Far Cry: Blood Dragon, Timesplitters: future perfect, Bulletstorm are awesome games

I played them all, they are all good in their own way
I used to be obsessed with FPS games

An ode to Titanfall: The last twitch shooter I'll probably ever enjoy

Windows Central: "Titanfall 1 is being sunset, taken off storefronts by EA. While the servers remain live for now, one has to wonder just how much time it has left. I look back and pay tribute to the last "twitch"-styled shooter I ever truly loved."
