well this kinda rules out a vita version in the near future. This is going to be an amazing year for the 3DS/2ds

LoveGaming3885d ago

3DS is just annihilating the competition with the amount of EXCLUSIVE games coming.

fattyuk3885d ago

Not really.

Luckily they've made it pretty clear there target audience now with the 2DS is little kids.

The_Villager3885d ago

Getting dislikes for stating a fact.

Only on N4G lol

Kalebninja3885d ago

@fattyuk thats the 2ds thats targeted for kids because of the design and lack of 3d the 3ds isnt targeted to a specific audience thats why it has such a variety of games

3-4-53885d ago

uhh the "New target" isn't kids.

Their 2DS target is kids, but everything else is 10-60 years old.

Their games appeal to the most ages at the same time, that is part of Nintendo's charm.

shinta3884d ago

@fattyuk the 3DS actually is and Media Create sales in japan even show this.

|System | This Week | Last Week | Last Year | YTD | Last YTD | LTD |
----------------------------- ------------------------------- ----------------------------
| 3DS # | 67.022 | 51.097 | 74.293 | 2.457.480 | 2.994.947 | 12.237.360 |
| PSV | 8.405 | 11.507 | 50.070 | 685.578 | 505.448 | 1.816.403 |

The Vita is in desperate need of games that appeal to more audiences if it hopes to survive. Especially now more than ever since it's back to sub 10k. It's going to be going into its 2nd year and will have barely scratched 2 milliom sold while the 3DS still has MH4 and Pokémon around the corner. Last month's sales here in the states showed 3DS as the top selling system 3 months running and Vita's sold in one month equaled to about one week in japan sales. The Vita is in a bad situation.

Not saying that you are not probably right about that but they could always just remove that content and keep it exclusive to the 3DS.

Not like I really have any hopes of it being released on the Vita either but just saying.

rageus3885d ago

They really need to update those textures... I'm sure the 3DS can handle it.

ZoidsRaven3885d ago

Very true.

Resident Evil: Revelations showed that the 3DS can handle textures above what MH:4 is putting out.
Not to say that I mind MH:4's textures.

rageus3884d ago

If they put half as much work into the backgrounds as they put onto the monsters I bet it would be amazing.

PSNintyGamer3885d ago

They could add some different characters(other than the ones we have seen) into these games.

Starbucks_Fan3885d ago

Thought this was a joke at first..... seems interesting though

Those are really good sales, I hope that means it'll come over faster to the west.

styferion3070d ago

I hope so too, but judging from past titles we'll be waiting for the ultimate version before they decide to localize it.

freshslicepizza3069d ago (Edited 3069d ago )

good to see strong console software sales come out of japan.

Masterchief_thegoat3070d ago

3ds is the best place to play on the go

Guardia3070d ago (Edited 3070d ago )

Yes, That means that One Kid You Knew in Elementary School's uncle at Nintendo will still have a job! ;)

RoseSapphire3070d ago

When Monster Hunter gets made for a non-Nintendo console I'll be more interested. I'd be much happier with a PS4/Xbone version with fully integrated online play.

EcoSos33070d ago

There will be a MH online that runs on CryEngine 3. I also hope this one makes it here.

This is still the close beta and it looks amazing.

rezzah3070d ago

I hope it comes back to a PS console, been waiting since MHFU (Freedom Unite). I'd prefer the PS4 over the Vita.

OtakuDJK1NG-Rory3070d ago

lol okay

even when they support online already on 3ds lol

Neonridr3069d ago

Of course you would be. I mean why support Nintendo, when you can be the cool kid on the block and be Anti-Nintendo?

RoseSapphire3069d ago

Anti-Nintendo has nothing to do with it. The PS4 and Xbone are more powerful machines with a much more robust and friendly online service. It opens up the game to a significantly wider audience while also allowing for an improvement in quality.

Neonridr3069d ago

@BranWheatKillah - fair enough, I was only joking. The fact that you said a non-Nintendo console made it seem like you had other motives. If the NX is more powerful than the PS4, then is there a problem with playing it on that machine?

OtakuDJK1NG-Rory3069d ago

@BranWheatKillah
those wider audiences rather
play CoD, Madden, NBA, GTA, Assassin Creed, Need For Speed, FiFa and all the other popular western games.
