Sony’s PlayStation 4 Marketing Slogan Is "Greatness Awaits"

Sony is going to give PlayStation 4 a big marketing push and the keywords behind it are "Greatness Awaits." Siliconera obtained a leak from a company working on the campaign. The commercial starts off by showing an empty road in a small town. A lone guy walks down the road towards the camera and says, "Who are you not to be great? You, with the imagination of a brilliant child and the powers of an ancient god."

Ps4's launch is already looking much better than ps3. E3 can't get here soon enough

Only sad thing is now I need to plug in 2 systems which isn't gonna be a lot of fun, but is it what it is. I don't want to sell my ps3 anytime soon since I have a lot of games in my collection

I think the adverts in the UK are pretty decent. I did like the old PSone adverts because they were different.
But I guess gaming and gaming perceptions have changed since those days all thanks to sony and maybe MS. COD MW3 advert was cool, WoW advert had different celebs talking about their (fake) experiences. DS had lots of different celebs playing games like brain training, mario etc...
Sony needs celebs to be in their adverts, it just makes it so much more memorable and its just the power of celebs these days.

Well being a student, you must understand that MOST slogans are generic in essence. Most slogans are just words, until they are placed in the proper context. Sure, some slogans are more catchy than others. If that is what you are saying, then I guess to each his own. However, I would say that it's really the imaging, the content, the music, i.e. the whole package that sells the campaign.

He was talking about Jek's comments in general; more than for Microsoft, Jek takes the negative road when it comes to Sony- and to a lesser extent, Nintendo- news and articles. He seems to have toned it down a little in the past week or so, but his comment history speaks for itself, or should. Always- or very nearly always- some sort of skepticism or doubt when it comes to Sony, in particular.

It seems he, among others, comments specifically to rile up certain groups. There are some who only have negative things to say in articles about certain brands or consoles, as well as those who are reasonable except when they comment on certain franchises.

Funny how people say things like "read before you type," while they apparently did not read, themselves.

A man likes this slogan for the start of the gen. He sees the jump to next gen as being the greatness that awaits. A company will need a new one 2 or 3 years in but this is fantastic for the start.
