X360A Review - BioShock Infinite

X360A: " This floating utopia-gone-catastrophically-w rong plays home to Irrational Games’ proper follow-up to the 2007 smash hit, BioShock, where the year is 1912 and you jump into the shoes of Booker DeWitt, a disgraced former Pinkerton agent, who's been given one last chance to wipe the slate clean by heading up to the floating city and rescuing the imprisoned Elizabeth – protected by a large mechanical beast called Songbird – from the grasp of the self-proclaimed and much-loved Prophet, Comstock."

Wow... I'm seeing lots of perfects for this game. Honestly, I do like the Bioshock series, but it wasn't really too high on my priority list. Perhaps I should give this one a go sooner rather than later, huh?

Murad4413d ago

I personally don't believe these scores for one reason only and that's because IGN received the first copy before everyone else and that could mean that the review scores have become biased in some way.

OlgerO4413d ago

24 scores on metacritic and the average is 9.5

Serjikal_Strike4413d ago

Stop hating, the game sounds amazing... Believe it

Murad4413d ago

@OlgerO
Do you really believe in metacritic? A site that specifically chooses the reviews they want to add and accumulate the scores of? If so, I honestly don't believe you have any right to say anything against me.

@Serjikal_Strike
Dude, shut up. I believe what I see from my own eyes, and there is not a single game that I've played that should receive a downright 10/10, ever. Also hating? Excuse me, but you read one small comment that just stated that I didn't trust the review because of the problem that occurred with the review copies and you believe me to be a hater; where is your logic? I personally love the Bioshock series, but receiving a 10/10 just seems as if one of the sites is copying the other in order to demonstrate that they know how to review. Also think about it, a game that receives 10/10 would easily be a game of the year, and how many games receive that same score? FAR TOO MANY.

brodychet4412d ago

Why is everyone so convinced that every site is biased? Until there's proof, I'm not going to succumb to that belief. On the other hand, the other Bioshock games have been fine. People are too quick to decide .

This game is amazing. That's my decision after all the glorious proof provided.

"And lastly, famous Boston Red Sox pitcher Curt Schilling helped to create the action-RPG’s setting. What’s really fascinating, though, is that the game was partially financed by taxpayers from Rhode Island (which allegedly lost the state millions of dollars). Yikes!"

1. Now infamous Schilling
2. No allegedly, it did. And they couldn't pay it back.
3. What really lost the money wasn't the SP release but the MMO they were working on. This was supposed to be an introduction into the MMO world.

I hate counting limited editions for these lists. I mean, they're made to be rare and expensive. It's far more interesting to hear about the NCAAs (even if most people know that one already) and the El Chavos than some massive hit that came with a $200 statue at retail.

gamerz638d ago

Me too. Here's the best I can do:

El Chavo Kart $90.14
NCAA Football 14 $87.72
Spiderman: Edge of Time $75.94
Spiderman Web of Shadows $75.09
Spiderman: Shattered Dimensions $67.76

Christopher637d ago

Wow, El Chavo Kart is not at all what I expected by the name. 100% looks like a Sackboy Kart game.

It's so odd that so many Spider-Man games are seemingly given lower print runs, even if they're not the best games.

Most Xbox games don’t hold as much value compared to other systems. Kameo, Blue Dragon, Last Remnant , and a handful or 2 of other games that I kept.

Fallout 3 and Bioshock Infinite are the rarest games of all time.

8 Best Games Set In A Multiverse

One of the biggest TV and movie tropes in the last decade has been the multiverse, the idea of exploring multiple dimensions to uncover alternate versions of existing ideas. From both a business and creative perspective, it makes sense why established franchises are shaking things up in this way.

However, there aren't many video games latching on to this trend, as rendering multiple worlds in real-time is a difficult feat and the medium is relatively young in comparison to its contemporaries, making crossover opportunities more difficult. Still, there are a few great titles that manage enough to overcome these challenges, and here are some of the best examples.

While I love someone mentioning Planescape, not really multiverse. Planes and dimensions, yes. But, they are typically their own locations and are very rarely tied to another 'verse' let alone another plane. The only things that are directly tied are the ethereal and material planes. Otherwise, they are dimensions created of their own design and goals by the creator/owner and not comprised of 'their own version of another dimension'.
