Your comparing Mutliplat Games. Thats the stupidest thing i've ever heard of. All the darn assets are IDENTICAL. i mean get real. The only Hangups at the beginning was because the PS3 hardware was brand spankin new. Now they will always be the same.

I love my PS3 and my 360 collects dust. But in this video the 360 version does look better, in terms of colors. The PS3 is miles better than the 360 IMO, but these comparisons just show the one thing the 360 does right, and thats rich colors.

Sure your hardware might fail, and games will be on multiple discs, and you wont be able to hear anything over the loud vacuum sound, but it does seem that the PS3, when put side to side with the 360 has deeper colors.
Now...if you didn't see it side to side, the PS3 version still looks beautiful.

A SECRET ;- TUROK was also planned to be canned by the DEVS at some stage since they were having problems coding for the PS3 version. The DEVS didnt do it since a lot of money was invested in porting it from X360 and so they rather decided to release the game in the inferior state

However TUROK is better on x360 just like Burnout being better on ps3 with faster FR(60 vs 40). no need for flamebait

In this comparison the differences were minor, with the 360 version having slightly (and I mean slightly) less visible jaggies on screen. But then again this game sucks so who cares? The fact the game sucks is not going to change because of what platform you buy it on.

I have a hd tv hdmi and all that and the demo looks nothing like that washed out... I always use the full rbg and extra white thing too and even on my cutom display settings (brightness is pretty high)_ it looks a lot darker than that...

kinda like wtf that just aint right... anyone with a ps3 and a decent capture card put up a real sample so these fools can see I speak the truth.
Unfortunetly our 360 doesnt have hdmi out or Id check out that version for myself just to make sure they didnt mix them...

From what I noticed, the PS3 didn't have the best cut-scene (the contrast/ brightness was messed up on it.) but the main part of the game was darker or the colours where richer. It was really noticeable in the characters faces. There's a distinction there.

P.S. I've typically scene these comparisons on a calibrated CRT monitor for graphics design / screen to print. I probably have an advantage over the typical computer user.

The video are gimped, I can say just looking at it that this isn't full RGB, or they just turned up the bright and down the contrast, cause you see as the same textures are just colored different (do you expect they to do twice the same texture for a multiplat game? kidding me, right?) and as the shrubs almost disappear on the dark hill, blurring everything (no contrast).

But I agree with Zambrota, this is the game that is worse on PS3 too... Nothing to really care about, the game isn't anywhere near a tech top (COD4 is, and PS3 version is better) and is just plain bad random FPS crap.

What I would like to see is a comparison from Assassin's Creed in 360 full-specs and PS3 full-specs. That is a open well-lightened game, there the difference shall be huge. And don't come to me with that "standard is what comes in the box, it's fair" cause if so, PS3 would be in 480i (fair?) and we would have to down the 360 version to it just to realize that is the same game (fair?)... The fair is to fallow how the devs produced the game. If they colored it with the HDMI in mind, this is the way the game is meant to be played, so this "standard" BS means nothing.

The devs confirmed that since they ran into problems coding for the PS3.

With proper coding any game can be made to run better on the MORE POWERFUL PS3. no denying that

eg Burnout looking much better on PS3 and running at 60 fps rather than 40 fps on x360

DMC4 looking much cleaner on PS3,having no Screen tearing and also having MORE SATURATED COLOURS on PS3 in comparison to the x360 version

I do not have an XB360 so I can compare, but blacks really do not look like white-grey on my Sony Bravia 40X3500. Either these videos are bullshit, or they are grabbing the video wrongly.

Colours are vibrant and rich, and blacks are pretty darn black on my PS3.

They're pretty much the same. At certain points the 360 version is darker, but more often the PS3 has more contrast and colour. Honestly, I would stick with the PS3 version.

Expanded black on the 360 isn't a feature that helps HD gaming. Its for the washed out/faded blacks in the 480p format creating deeper blacks due to the lack of deep Blacks on Standard-def.

I based my statement upon a memory. I had never taken notice that if you were using HD and not SD / EDTV output, you had the option for "reference levels"

I noticed framerate drops in the PS3 version, it's especially visible when performing close-up kills(look at when he kills the dinosaur). Also, the textures were better on the 360 version. It also displayed more foliage and had less jaggies.

I hope third party devs get better at handling the PS3. It would be a shame if this kind of thing happened to better titles. Orange Box was idiotic. Outsource it to EA...

on the PS3 in the beginning of video. In the middle and further into the comparison the game looks identical except some framrate issues but this isn't surprising as the Xbox was the lead platform and the Turok devs have been stating they hd been having problems with the unreal engine on th PS3.

I am so sick of every PS3 fanboy having to explain why there version looks like shmit. The typical comment is "The developers are lazy". OK, let's look at it from a business perspective since that is what it is anyway. If I can take x amount of hours and resources and develope for one console and have it look better and that console has a larger install base which one do I develope for? Or do I take more hours and more resources so I can develope for the PS3 which has a smaller install base. Which gives me a better return on investment? In the end folks it's all about the dollars and if I can make a killer game on the 360 and sell 5 million units vs. the same game requiring more hours of developed and more resources and sell < 1 million what would you do. I think they both look good, but the one thing that gets me is if you watch during the gameplay when they show Turok getting attacked by a Dino in a side by side comparison this strikes me as weird since the developers said that the dino's react to the situation. Now here it looks like that Dino reacted the same in the same place at the same time the same way (enough sames). I would have expected the Dino parts to not be able to be compared the same on two different systems if their reactions are suppose to be on the fly (unless both people did the same thing in both plays of the game).

take a look at Alan Wake, Too Human, Ninja Gaiden 2, Metal Gear Solid 4, Final Fantasy XIII, Killzone 2, and Resistance 2 if you really want to appreciate what the PS3 and 360 can do.

as for Gametrailers, they still refuse to turn on the RGB Full settings when doing PS3 comparisons, and i refuse to go to their site for *ANY game videos nowadays. if they'll blatantly mis-represent one consoles games over the other (and believe me, as momentum continues to shift this year in the Playstation 3's favor, as we've seen in media outlets *ALL OVER the net, they will turn on Microsoft and the 360, just like they turned on the Playstation 3 and Sony these past two years).

with the ps3 darker and the 360 brigter. I forgot to check to see who did this I'm tire of these trailers by Gametrailers any video file knows that different machines mesh differently with tv and that not all are created equal.

The idea is that your setup is custom tailored to the specific device and tv. I doubt the PS3 and 360 are calibrated to any standard thus they will not look the same on the TV with the same settings. Heck I have 2 DVD Players and a Blu-ray player and not one has the same optimal settings using component cables.

Then you have to consider the quality of the hack job splicing video from one source into the other and the accuracy of recording two different video sources.

From start to finish you will get a loss in quality and would have to edit both (manipulate the image) to bring them closer to the original. This isn't done lightly and takes time and someone with talented video editing skills.

Somehow I don't get the impression that Gametrailers does this but instead just sets one setting on a tv (probably defaults) leaving the systems on their default maximum settings for HDMI and then records them that way without optimization for each individual unit. PS3 has a super white that really pumps out the brightness which generally requires that a tv tone down its brightness settings a bit hence the wash out look. Colors might pop out a bit on the PS3 but that is probably because the color settings favored the PS3 this time rather than the xbox 360.

I hate FUD an this is the worst kind. While this video I believe favored my Xbox of the PS3 version I wouldn't call victory and would hope that xbox 360 fans don't support this kind of garbage put out by Gametrailers.
