Metal Gear Solid: HD Collection Review (Vita)-TGH

TGH Writes: "Metal Gear Solid 2 & 3 are timeless Kojima classics that everyone knows and loves. Both of these titles have been released countless times with either an enhanced version or HD port. With the recent release of MGS: HD Collection on Playstation 3 and Xbox 360, the HD port would soon find itself on the Playstation Vita. Nearly having all the bells and whistles of its console counter-part (minus Peace Walker), does the Vita version of MGS: HD Collection suit the handheld system or does this port fail to meet console expectations?"

I disagree, but I guess that's because I'm a diehard MGS fan. :P

I must say I'm loving this right now. Having never played MGS 3 before (I know, I know) I can't wait to see what it looks and plays like, but I'm enjoying MGS 2 again. I disagree that it looks like a PS One game - have you seen how bad MGS looks now? - but I do think changing inventory selection to the touchscreen was an idiotic choice, it's just super clumsy.

Good review, and an enjoyable read.

I dont agree that its clumsy(touch screen), I really like that option. I found it extremly useful.
I havent played MGS3 yet, cause just like you, im having fun with MGS2.
And about the grapics... I think that they look great.

MGS2 is an 11 years old game and I think it's still one of the best games ever. MGS3 is my favorite MGS game. And in my opinion, a person that reviews a game based on its visuals is an ignorant.

It's not clumsy to the fact it makes it unplayable, but its not as easy to glide to your choice like you could with the trigger system on the console versions. It doesn't help when you have big hands and your thumb obscures what you're looking for.

Basically it doesn't make a tense situation any less tense.

Metal Gear Solid HD Collection - Preparing for Snake Eater Remake

The Metal Gear Solid HD Collection launched in 2011, and is still the best way to play Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater ahead of the remake.

Can’t wait to one day break that game out of the collection vault

Currently playing Snake Eater HD on CRT 16:9, via Scart RGB. Game looks great but not as clean as MGS2, but thats due to the setting. Can't wait for the remake + the next HD collection on PS5.

It's Konami. Expect nothing.

Konami's too busy with their Pachinko machines to worry over silly little things like this.
