I must say...I would be lying as a human being if i said i wasn't thrilled. Beyond expectations of the human brain that has his/her hopes high? perhaps. Yet if the human has a brain of ability to rationally think beyond the negative spectrum of idocy, ofcourse.

Hisiru4767d ago

I am actually excited for this engine (I want to see the improvements, graphics, details etc) but I also want to see if they will support WiiU (just curious).

XboxInnovation4767d ago (Edited 4767d ago )

I hope I wont be dissapoint

modesign4767d ago

im sure they will show a very pretty CGI demo that will get some oooo's and aaaa's, but at the end of the day, the games that will use UE4 will be butchered and poorly developed.

Pandamobile4767d ago (Edited 4767d ago )

They're unveiling a brand new engine. I'm pretty sure it stands to reason that it'll actually be representative of the engine and not a CGI demo.

I don't think they're going to pull a Killzone 2 on us.

"the games that will use UE4 will be butchered and poorly developed."

And how the hell do you figure that? Some of the BEST games of the past 7 years have come from Unreal Engine.

Bioshock? Batman Arkham Asylum/City? Mass Effect? Gears of War? Mirror's Edge? Etc.

Unreal is, and has always been an incredible engine. Don't blame the tech for some crappy games.

NovusTerminus4767d ago

Wanna know a secret? Tech demo's always look nice, it's easy to get a good looking scene when there is no gameplay to worry about.

Right? Thanks for checking it out!

Fans??? This is done by one person

WoodsRatesGames1507d ago

Someone else was commissioned to do the music and another person modelled the batmobile. Links to all involved are included in the article.

Gaming4Life19811507d ago

They should have been made a batman game for the best batman movie. This looks amazing and now I must watch the movie.

Am I crazy or is there an Unreal Engine 5 now? Why promote old tech?

waverider1528d ago

I really dont understand either? isnt the Unreal Engine 5 already available for studios? arent they already working with it?

masterfox1527d ago

UE5 Is for PS5 only, deal with it! :D

***runs away from this thread with pride!**

Tacoboto1527d ago

UE5 is not released yet and developers for years will still make UE4 games because that's where their tools and customizations are.

Mortal Kombat still uses UE3. Mass Effect Legendary Edition is also still UE3.

Magog1527d ago

That more of an embarrassing indictment of those devs than a reason to promote old software.

Tacoboto1527d ago

Embarrassing indictment? You know nothing of software development then.

Spenok1527d ago (Edited 1527d ago )

Because a ridiculous amount of the industry still uses 4, and because no, 5 is not out yet. They said it would launch later this year.

AuraAbjure1527d ago

Companies still use Unreal Engine 3.

Really impressive tech but I don’t even notice all of these benefits in real life, never mind being chased by zombies in a video game. Rather devote resources to resolution and frame rate.

Magog1527d ago

If you suddenly stopped casting reflections in a mirror I think you would notice.

Edit: i misread this.

Einhander19711526d ago

Yes after seeing the Unreal 5 ps5 reveal, I thought that's where we were heading. But saying that I have read various articles that suggest its easy for developers to still work on Unreal 4 and carry everything over to Unreal 5 when needed, we shall see.
