The God of War series has been captivating me since its beginning. I found the mythology very provoking, the pacing perfect, graphics always amazing and action unparalleled. This third installment was greatly anticipated by the gaming community and myself. The anticipation was so great I think most people will take hold of the reigns and miss not only a marvel of modern gaming but also a story that is deeply profound. I not only think the ending to the game was very interesting but also the events that unfold as Kratos takes hold of his revenge. For a video game to strike such deep philosophical and religious thoughts within me is very impressive. In case you haven’t played the game yet I will spare details. However, one should carefully consider the glue that is holding our reality together and the very deep implications of the infamous phrase “God is dead.” For a world that is moving toward that end one can embrace hope or succumb to fear.
We are at an interesting time in human history and an interesting time in the history of America. We face much uncertainty right now. I think people are very nervous and possibly afraid of the change that is coming into the world. Change is indeed coming now regardless if you like it or not. I am not referring to just political change, or health care reform… but reality as we know it. We will soon be faced with the marvel of our hands. The unlocking of ancient secrets and profound philosophical ideas is at hand. Reality is shifting from a notion that the Gods hold our world together to the idea that we do, or at least we create our realities. I have my own ideas of where this awakening will lead. The nature of quantum physics does suggest that humans have an interesting role and purpose here, far beyond tending the earth and its inhabitants. Can man simply forgive themselves and hope for something better? Can we bear the true weight of our trespasses into the reality that was meant for angels or Gods? We have lost sight of this fact but with mythology returning in some strange way, the path of the titans or nephilim is being made known again. As we pull the heavens down to our level, how will we then transcend into the infinite?
As you may be asking yourself, what is this guy rambling about? GOW III is not just a game but also a discourse into the very nature of reality and the future of our world… and yes the game totally kicks @$%. If you game, you mustn’t miss this one. It truly is the best of the series and possibly the coolest game ever made.
The Opening Levels that hooked gamers from the outset.
Cultured Vultures: Let’s delve into Kratos’ long and rampageous history and find out which games are worth the hype and which are better left buried under the weight of Kratos’s might.
Both requels over 2 and 3? Clowns. Those are two of the most boring games I've ever played.
My favorite was part 2 and I think Ragnarok is better that 2018.
There is no worst. Except for Ascension, only cause I didn't play it lol. They are all masterpieces. 1,2,3, 2018 and Ragnarok. 1 of, if not the greatest video game franchise...besides MetalGear.
Can't agree, older games do so much more than the last two. More weapons, magic abilities, enemies are more varied, level design is also more aesthetically pleasing, and agree with those who say that they shouldn't have removed jumping. Was a time I'd agree, but those old games are so so much better, that they really should've looked into bringing into the reboot/sequels.
God of War 3 Remaster has sold 4 million copies since its inception, making the franchise PlayStation's most profitable gamer merch brand.
Haha I still remember my brother playing the opening scene on ps3!!!
Yeh he had to put the controller down his heart was beating too fast trying to get past first 10 minutes. He said "it's too much". Best thing I've ever seen in gaming. Haha
I know this is unpopular opinion, but I prefer these over the new ones. I’m not saying the new ones are bad or anything, but they sort of get boring to me, whereas the older games were like non-stop roller coaster rides.
