XDefiant is one of those games that you either love or hate. The same applies to most of the in-game features. Some XDefiant players proposed a universally despised feature could benefit from being diversified with a twist.
A Twist Could Make a Feature More Manageable
One brave XDefiant player dared to suggest that regardless of its reputation, the Spider Bot could be fun to face. Logan_Reloaded proposed: “How about some more interesting Spider Bot types? Spider Bots get a lot of hate generally in the XDefiant community. I think that’s because they are such a good counter to any style of game-play”.
This player went on to introduce five more variants of the Spider Bot, each of which would contribute differently to the game. Of course, the regular “Attack” Spider Bot would stay as the sixth variant. The first proposed variant would be the “Defence Spider”. The OP explained: “Spider Bot stays nearby and attacks local targets rather than going off on an adventure without you”.
The Second variant, called the “Mummy Spider”, would attack as one Spider Bot, but upon its destruction, it would turn into 10 mini-bots that could also cause damage. Another variant, the third one, would be called the “Revenge Spider”. The OP elaborated: “If you die while the Spider Bot is loose, it becomes enraged and locks on to the player that killed you with enhanced speed and movement and a fresh battery timer”.
The “Acro Spider” would be the fourth variant. It would have enhanced movement and it would be unpredictable. This one could run on the walls and the ceiling, thus the name. Finally, the fifth variant would be a mix of all the variants. It would be larger and slower, with its own health bar. This one would appropriately be called “MegaSpiderUltra”.
XDefiant Players Praise the Initiative
While many XDefiant players praised the OP for coming up with an amazing twist on this annoying feature, some players took the opportunity to make a joke. Fun-Average-2418 jokingly said: “Nonexistent Spider: You use your ability, and your character throws nothing”.
On the other hand, the community praised the OP’s imagination and drive. Legitimate_Bat7357 noted: “This the one, in all seriousness, OP is on the right track. Spider Bot 1000% needs a rework. Make the people happy and the game will do better”.
Another player, CtrlAltDesolate, showed support, even though they weren’t a fan of the Spider Bot. This player said: “Don’t get me wrong, hate those things. This is just a legit good idea, which is refreshing here”.
Honestly, we think that any additions to a game are a great idea, as diversity is the key. With recent drama, it would be cool to see the devs do something special for the community. As you know, they usually have a good rep with the player base, so let’s hope that continues.
