XDefiant Players Praise the Devs’ Decision to Add One Small Detail

It seems that since its release, XDefiant has only been criticized. Apparently, many players haven’t noticed a cool little detail promoting sportsmanship. XDefiant players agree that the devs should receive all the praise for basically giving free XP in order to make everyone’s game worthwhile.

When You Have a Bad Game, Other Players Will Support You

A Redditor, narwall101, made a public service announcement. They said: “Always remember to commend your teammates at the end of a match. You get 100XP for commending them, and they receive 200XP for getting commended. Win-win. Even if it’s someone who isn’t doing so well in-game, it’s literally free XP”. In our experience, getting XP just for being nice to your teammates is quite a rare thing to see. We are all for it.

GreatMist shared: “Last night I got thrown into an escort that was going horribly, got “Showed Up” as the stat and everybody commended me. So far the community in this game has been a touch better than other shooters with the commendation system”. Several other players confirmed that, unlike so many others, the XDefiant community was very supportive.
Players went on to share how they picked who deserved to be commended. SpytAtomerUd said: “‘Tried’, ‘Showed up’, and the likes always get a high-five from me. These are usually people who were thrown into the end of a match in progress, so the least I can do is give them a little something for showing up”. Another fan, mysticalbane, shared their stance: “I always commend whoever did the best objective-wise”.
If you are playing with friends, you might consider killabeve‘s strategy. They noted: “My friends and I always thumbs up each other but then we realized your character level doesn’t mean anything after you unlock DeSec. So we just pick the random player who helped us the most and dump likes on them. Kind of a feel-good for all of us. The game is satisfying for sure”.

All Fans Deserve a Little Boost

A fan, almtymnegmng, reminded everyone of another reason to commend their teammates. They said: “Plus if you give or receive a “high five” 20 times, it’s an achievement/trophy”. Another excellent incentive by the developers.
Also, it goes against our instinct, but try to commend good players as well. As contradictory as it sounds, they are often overlooked, as we tend to have a soft spot for those who are struggling. A player, xKaizokux, noted: “Yes, and if the commendations are being spread among the team 1 each, maybe give one to the person missing one. Too many times I’ve given one to the “showed up” guy, and even when I’m #1 or have a “match best” its hurts to see yourself left out”.
Whomever you choose to commend, keep on doing it. If you have an opportunity to give and receive some XP for sportsmanship, why not use it to the fullest? For once, we praise the devs behind this lovely initiative that made so many XDefiant players feel a little better after a hard match. Let’s hope they’ll also listen to some of the players’ concerns, such as bunny-hopping or the introduction of loss prevention.
