XDefiant Players Ask the Developers to Introduce Loss Prevention

So far, XDefiant has received mixed reviews. Some fans really enjoy playing it, while others enjoy complaining about it. No matter how good, or bad, a game is, it’s the little details that bother fans the most. Now, XDefiant players are pushing for the developers to change the game and instate Loss Prevention.

The Loss of a Winning Streak Annoys Fans

A Redditor, Live-Leg-1993, complained: “Losses from joining into losing games shouldn’t count. I’ve joined into quite a few games where it’ll be just me and maybe someone else on the team and we’ll get walked for 30 seconds until it’s over. How is it fair that I have to take an L for that?”
Another player, slayer-x, agreed. They added: “Definitely, a match in progress shouldn’t count as a loss. Also, they need to fix joining [a match] in progress so often. If you finish a match, your next match should never be in progress. That happens very often for me on XDefiant”. The huge support these players have received isn’t surprising.

Imagine losing a winning streak for entering a losing match in the final seconds. Unfortunately for Adams325, they don’t have to imagine. This player shared: “Yeah it caused me to lose my 11-win streak. Was kinda salty about that”. Understandably so, we’d be furious.
Somehow, the whole problem got worse when one of the players, S_Squar3d, testified that if you joined a match that was in progress and won, the win wouldn’t go toward your streak. They explained: “Ironically, I don’t think wins count if the match already started. I had one more win I needed to complete the Ubisoft challenge, joined a game (my team was losing when I joined), and ended up winning but the challenge didn’t complete”. Ryctre responded: “Somehow [that] doesn’t surprise me. They copied their a**es off and when it came time to make decisions, it seems they made the wrong one and listened to zero feedback”.

Do You Need Loss Prevention for Unranked Play?

When it came to advice on how not to lose, several fans shared the same idea. Basically, if you enter a losing game nearing the end, just leave, you don’t owe it to anyone to stay and lose. A player, uSaltySniitch, shared their opinion: “You should never be able to even join a game that already started. If it started and somebody ragequits, too bad so sad… The team will have to do without this player”.
As you might have expected, there were more than a few players who simply didn’t care about this problem. Biteroon said: “Who cares in Unranked. Oh no, I lost my win streak. If it happens in ranked and causes you to lose levels of rank sure but in Unranked it doesn’t matter that much in my eyes”. Distortionman added: “I don’t care about the L, I suck anyway, but they should think about implementing some sort of backfill bonus. That could be worth some thought”.
While we agree that when playing in Unranked this isn’t a huge deal, once Ranked arrives, it’s going to be a massive problem. So, why not solve it now, before we even get to experience those levels of dissatisfaction? We’ll have to wait and see if the XDefiant developers will listen to the players on the issue of Loss Prevention. They do have a good track record when it comes to listening to players, so we hope they’ll come through.
