Last year, Riot Games introduced a special form of seasonal competitive play in the form of Valorant Premier. The next season starts with the launch of Episode 8 Act 3 on April 30, 2024. Premier is all about balancing between a tight match schedule, getting wins, and competing in a tournament-like game mode. What is Premier Mode in Valorant?
Valorant Premier is not simply another ranked mode, it’s an opportunity for aspiring talents to showcase their skills and compete with their equals. The crux of this mode involves weekly skirmishes on predetermined maps, all leading up to the climactic season-ending tournament where each skill division will crown its champion.
To ensure a level playing field, Riot Games has set criteria for participation: players must provide SMS authentication for account verification, ensure their account’s good standing, and should have engaged in ranked placements at least once. Finding teammates is just one-half of the prep – they have to be available to play during the assigned match schedule. While the exact queue timings differ by zone, we have provided a full look at the Premier season’s match schedule.
Match-by-Match Breakdown
The launch stage season spans seven weeks, during which teams will have to battle their way through the entire Premier map pool. To accumulate 600 points and secure a spot in the end-of-season tournament, teams will be participating in up to two matches per week. These points determine progression – a win bags a team 100 points, a loss brings in 25, and inactivity on a matchday yields zero. The ultimate goal? Winning a Playoff tournament will promote the team to a higher Premier division.
