Some would say that games are valued by the dedication of their player base. If that’s true, Valorant might be one of the best games out there. One extremely devoted fan single-handedly found and deciphered all the signs on the new map. This article is dedicated to Elgelon in an effort to spread their truly wonderful work. All text on Abyss was translated by this extremely talented Valorant fan.

The Player Decided to Discover all the Secrets of the Latest Valorant Map

In a lengthy Reddit post, Elgelon explained how they found a very special easter egg in the form of an alphabet that could be deciphered. This player called the language Abyssal. They explained how the language didn’t have capital or small letters, and there was no punctuation. The capital letters and the punctuations you see in their lovely translations are solely following the rules of English grammar.

This linguist started their journey in the Attacker Spawn. Well, to be exact, in the house next to it. They found a sign that translated to: “Welcome To The Elder Grotto!”. Keep in mind that some signs are short and to the point, while others are a bit more complex and, therefore harder to translate. Also, according to Elgelon, it’s possible that a couple of small mistakes slipped in.

If you move up and towards the lobby, you’ll stumble upon a window and two desks. You’ll find another sign there. Elgelon shared that this one was hard to translate. They finally came up with: “Scions! There Shall Be Tending The Turn Of The Hourglass. To Safeguard Truths Forbidden, Pruning Vine, Burning Word And Confine All To The Abyss, For The Hourglass Turns!”

Moving on, on a Back-site you might find a small sign that simply states: “Power Generator”. You can find the next sign in the A Tower. It says: “Vault Access”. Then, you can head on over to the A Link Lab. You’ll find two screens there. The first screen reads: “Prisoner Sample 32a. Temp Analysis”. The second one states: “Scanning In Progress 32a”. Elgelon stated these finds were their favorite. Maybe they’re connected to a new agent?

All the Details of Abyss are exposed in the Translated Text

If you continue to the A Secret, you’ll find another message on the wall. It says: “In Honor Of All Fallen Scions”. This player also translated a security sign nearby: “High Winds”, as well as the names of three A Security Rooms, Vault, Library, and Botanics.

The only part left to explore is the Defender Spawn. Starting at the Defender Spawn Wall, there’s a sign that reads: “The Hourglass Turns”. Going Mid-Top (where you can see the skins), there are two signs. The first one reads: “Caution! Radianite Artifacts! Handle With Care”. And the second one simply notes: “Caution”.

If you go toward the B, in B Link, you’ll see two screens. The top left of the first screen says: “Task Tracker”. In the middle of the first screen, the message reads: “Task Completion: 100%”. The writing on the second B Link screen is sideways. It states: “Purge Data Confirmation. Seed Registry”. Finally, if you continue all the way to B Tower Lab, you’ll find a big screen. On The Bar, it says: “Purge 75%”. Another screen states: “Purge Data Confirmation”. Under it, the translator couldn’t decipher the first letter, but it’s most probably: “(L)es, On”.

Obviously, other players had only words of praise for this entire research. Everyone loves easter eggs, and Elgelon discovered the biggest one. The fact that this gifted Valorant player translated all the text in Abyss still amazes us. It’s truly wonderful to see the players enjoying all the special little details that the developers made for them. As for you, dear reader, why not explore the grounds some more, maybe you’ll discover some new signs in Abyssal.
