Valorant New Agent Expansion: A Glimpse in Patch 7.08’s UI Update

The latest effects introduced in Valorant Patch 7.08 caught many players’ attention. Still, a nuanced UI tweak might be the most intriguing. This understated shift hints at the Valorant new agent expansion plans by Riot Games, stirring excitement and speculation for the game’s future.

Preparing for a Roster Revamp: More Agents on the Horizon

The Valorant community noted an understated change in the patch notes under the general updates: “We made a slight adjustment to the rows of agents you can select from at the bottom of the screen in order to make room for future Agents.” Previously, players could view the 22 agents showcased in two neat rows of 11 each. However, Patch 7.08 reconfigures this display into three rows of nine, intriguingly leaving five vacant slots in the third row.

Speculation runs rife that one of these slots will soon host a much-anticipated new duelist, set to debut with Episode 7 Act 3. This addition will take the tally to 23 agents. Yet, the newly designed UI strongly suggests a probable total of 27 agents, at the very least.

Riot Games, in their characteristic style, won’t rush the releases. They’ve consistently adhered to introducing three new agents annually. A closer look at their release pattern reveals a dip in agent releases per episode: two in Episodes 2 to 4, one each in Episodes 5 and 6, and a pair in Episode 7.

The burgeoning agent roster, reminiscent of the vast pools seen in games like Rainbow Six Siege or League of Legends, raises concerns among the player base. The gradual pace of releases might ease the integration of new agents. Still, there are apprehensions about the cumulative number eventually becoming overwhelming.

Nevertheless, with Riot’s track record of keeping players engaged and balancing the game dynamics, the Valorant community can excitedly anticipate several fresh agents in the forthcoming seasons.
