Call of Duty’s next installment – Modern Warfare 3 will certainly bring back fans of the original game while piquing the interest of new players. The reboot sequel has already teased some of its new and familiar features that will go live once it rolls out next month.
However, some fans couldn’t help but fret about the future of the popular game mode – DMZ. This has grown to be a fan favorite of CoD players and they want to know what will happen to it once MW3 is already out.
Will MW3 Have DMZ?
DMZ is here to stay folks. This has been confirmed in a tweet by Call of Duty’s official account last October 3. The tweet assured its playerbase that the support for DMZ Beta will continue even after Modern Warfare 3’s launch.
Albeit the assurance that DMZ will still receive support come Modern Warfare 3, it is not clear if the developers will be rolling out updates for the fan-favorite game mode. However, at the tail end of the tweet, it was noted that the devs will be detailing “further updates” as they draw closer to Season 1.

What Is DMZ’s Current Status?
The aforementioned game mode recently received an update that is part of Modern Warfare and Warzone’s sixth season. Dubbed The Haunting, it was revealed in a Call of Duty blog post that the contents of the event for Battle Royale will also be available for DMZ as well. This includes Operation Nightmare where players are tasked to “face down the horrors of the Hellmouth that has opened in Al Mazrah.”
