In Valorant, you can change your account server region without going through any trouble at all. Your account server regions are the different servers you can connect to within your region. Valorant automatically connects you to the closest server to minimize your ping, but they’ve still made it possible for you to link to other servers.
How Do You Change Your Valorant Server Region
To change your server region, simply tick the servers you want to play in from the Play menu. You can find these servers by hovering your mouse on the top right side of your player card, where you’ll find a few network bars denoting your ping. These server regions are sorted from lowest to highest ping.

Why Would You Change Your Valorant Server Region
So, why would someone want to change their server region, especially when it means playing on a higher ping? Well, you can attribute it to a variety of reasons. For one, if you’re queuing with some friends who live in different parts of the world, you may want to find a server where all of you get decent ping and no one misses out.
Another reason to toggle your server regions is to talk to and play with different kinds of players. You might find it hard to get a match in your region at certain times, such as early in the morning or during the middle of the day. Similarly, you might be facing a language barrier with other players from your reason and may want to connect with players who speak the same language. In that case, you can just connect to a server that aligns with your preferences.
What Are The Disadvantages of Changing Servers
Of course, it’s not that plain and simple to change your server. The option comes with its own set of benefits, the most prominent of which is a higher ping. Valorant is a rather fast-paced game and every microsecond matters. Getting that few extra milliseconds of ping might make the difference in your gameplay.
Furthermore, you can’t connect to servers outside your primary region. For example, a person from South Asia can’t connect to North American servers, and a person from the Oceania region can’t connect to servers in Europe. This is to make sure players with extremely high ping (300ms+) can’t connect to your games, leaving one side at a significant disadvantage.
If you want to play in servers far off from your primary region, you’ll have to make a new account whilst connected to a VPN. Your progress for that account will reset and you’ll have to start from zero, and it’s probably not a good idea to do so unless you’re just going to play casual game modes.
