The moment players have been waiting for is almost here! There have been many rumors since the end of June. Now, the new Valorant Agent will arrive in a couple of days and social media is overflowing with various teasers and leaks.
Leaks and Teasers Raise the Expectations
On August 20, the official Valorant account on X posted the latest teaser. The post read: “Did you hear that?”, and a video was attached. In it, some vines are crawling through a dark alley as a female voice says “A little bird wandered too far from its nest”.
As for the leaks, there have been many. Probably the most interesting one contains the identity and the role of the new Agent. A Valorant leaks account announced: “Our new Agent 26 VYSE’s role’s SENTINEL”. If we were to trust these leaks, the new Agent isn’t the missing Agent 8, but rather Agent 26. Their name might be Vyse and their role would be Sentinel.
Valorant Players Share Their Wishes for the New Agent
As you might have suspected, these teasers and leaks made Valorant players extremely impatient to see the new Agent. The community immediately started dissecting everything they had seen. One player, orc-net, wondered: “Do we think this Agent’s ult will root players for a certain amount of time with those thorns?”. Obviously, many players wholeheartedly agreed. A_Potato_In_Space added: “Sounds like an Agent meant to catch flankers or lurkers”.
Another player, jong-hyung, noted: “I hope we finally get an older woman. I know Sage, Reyna, and Viper are the most mature ones but I want a character design where you can tell her age just like Brimstone. Greying hair and maybe defined cheekbones. Her voice direction reminds me of Cate Blanchett as Hela so I hope they have similar features”.
However, some Sentinel players expressed valid concerns. A Redditor, itzzzRAMPAGE, stated: “On one hand maining Sentinal, I know everyone will now insta-lock the new character and that’s going to suck. But maybe just maybe I can start trusting Cloves to actually know how to smoke”.
On the other hand, many players gladly welcomed another Sentinel. Another Redditor, celz9, said: “I am glad the Agent isn’t an Initiator because it wouldn’t be necessary right now to have another one. Riot already buffed Gekko and nerfed Skye, the Initiator META already saw a good change and it isn’t time to shake this up yet. The Sentinel class is kinda dry right now, people just play KJ or Cypher”.
The new Agent arrives on August 23, so get ready, they are almost here. We are looking forward to seeing if anyone guessed correctly, and if the leaks were indeed true. What are you excited about the most?
