Community Calls Players Not to Rage Quit a Winnable Game in Valorant

Sometimes when you start a game, something is just off. Whether you aren’t a fan of Agents in your team, a role was left unfilled, or you’re just off to a bad start, you might be compelled to exit the game. You secretly think you’ll have more luck in the next game, and use that as an excuse to simply leave. Maybe you’ve just had a bad day and you need to be sure you’ll end it with a win. This has become very common in Valorant, so common that the community has united in a plea for players not to leave a winnable game, and especially not to rage quit.

Is the “All Games Are Winnable” Mentality the Correct One?

One devoted player, Prestigious_Ice_1012, shared their recent experience with a team member rage quitting. They noted: “I can count too many times where one of my teammates decided to rage quit the match before the first half even finished”.

This player recalled a team member getting annoyed because another one rotated from a site too fast. The annoyed player had a fit and left the game, while the team managed to win the match without them.

The OP suggested that the main reason for people to rage quit was thinking the game was unwinnable. They noted: ” Every game in Valorant is winnable and I honestly wish that mentality was more common”. This outlook might encourage the players to stick it out and finish the match.

iTCHYTRIGGERZ explained why this mentality wasn’t more common. They stated: “The outcome of every game isn’t always in one player’s control. This can be true for any team game, and especially for Valorant with its many in-game variables at play”. This player went on to explain the “20-60-20 rule”. Basically, 20% of games are auto-wins (or auto-losses), and the rest (60% of the games) actually depend on the player.

Valorant Players Share Why You Shouldn’t Rage Quit an Unwinnable Match Either

Let’s face it, the majority of players have rage quit a game at a certain point, whether it was Valorant or not, if a player doesn’t think the game is winnable, it’s not worth their time. Some players suggest that patience comes with age, so the more experience you have, you’ll be better at managing your emotions. While this is certainly true, we’d add that you’ll also be able to just enjoy the game without a particular need for winning.

Ermastic noted: “Some games are unwinnable, you just have to accept it. There’s no point in screaming at teammates or backseating, sometimes the enemy just playing the game better. Some people just don’t care about winning”.

Another player, meneldor_hs, added: “Just play and accept reality. That’s the most mature approach. People who think they can win every game are usually those who will scream at you when you play bad, that was spot on”.

Honestly, we’d suggest you try staying in a match that is doomed from the very start. It might change your perspective a bit. Some of us just weren’t good losers, but that’s a flaw at the end of the day. Stick with your team through thick and thin and you’ll probably win more than a match. Some players make life-long friends in online games. So, relax, take a deep breath when someone annoys you, and enjoy the game.
