After a rocky few months, it looks like Helldivers 2 is set to receive a new lease of life as the 01.001.007 update is said to be 6-8 pages long, bringing buffs to dozens of weapons. This comes after Arrowhead Game Studios has faced backlash and criticism over the past few months for its reactionary updates that have seen many popular weapons nerfed, including the Breaker Incendiary Shotgun.

In the most recent 01.001.007 teaser, Johan Pilestedt and Niklas Malmborg revealed what we can expect from the next update, this time discussing the Rocket Devastator Automatons and the Gunships. During the video, it was announced that Devastators will now have a set amount of rockets that they can fire before needing to reload, with them only having the ability to reload once. In total, they will have 16 rockets at their disposal, which will make it much easier to survive the onslaught of explosives from the robot army.

The second piece of information will make robot slayers happy, and that is Gunships will now run out of ammo too. Currently, if you’re playing a mission with the Gunship modifier or encounter one at difficulty 6 or above, expect to be endlessly pursued with rockets and lasers firing down upon you until they eventually take you out. With the 001.001.007 update, they will eventually run out of ammo and will need to retreat, which will give you a breather and make them more manageable. If you do want to take them down but struggle to hit a shot from the likes of the Recoilless Rifle, the Laser Cannon is a fantastic choice as it is extremely effective to hit the Gunship’s engine and take it down.

While you wait for the 001.001.007 update, the latest Major Order has gone live, which has tasked players with eradicating hundreds of millions of Bile Spewers and Warriors. If the community is successful, we will finally unlock the Orbital Napalm Barrage Stratagem, which was a huge hit with players when they got to test it last week.
