Major Order events are the lifeblood of Helldivers 2 and the Galactic War. Each week, players face either the Automatons or Terminids and complete various missions including eradicating a set amount of enemies or liberating/defending certain planets. In the past, we have seen Automaton missions fail at a higher rate due to more players preferring the Terminids. However, players were successful with the previous Major Order that saw the community defend numerous planets from the robot army. Now it is time to head back to the Terminid Sectors for the next Major Order.
After successfully completing the previous Major Order, which saw Super Earth protect its titanium stores from the Automatons, the new Major Order is now live and it looks to be an almost guaranteed victory for Helldivers 2 players. This new Major Order will finally grant players the Orbital Napalm Barrage Stratagem if the community completes the event.
Super Earth announced the Major Order, which will once again see players take on the Terminids saying,
“Raw Terminid population levels are at unstable levels, threatening to reach exponentially explosive rates of reproduction. In order to reduce the population most effectively, we will target specific medium-sized specimens that form the backbone of Terminid hives.
While this remains our operational focus, a window of opportunity has once again arisen to augment our forces with the Orbital Napalm Barrage. The Automaton-controlled planets Tarsh and Mastia both contain significant manufactories producing polystyrene foam, an important precursor to napalm. If both planets are liberated within the duration of this order, it will be possible to immediately deploy the Orbital Napalm Barrage fleetwide acquisition.
While augmentation of our weaponry will aid the long-term war effort, the reduction of the Terminid population demands our critical attention. Whether to divide our forces in an attempt to acquire this new Stratagem is a decision left to the strategic expertise of the Helldivers. Whichever course of action is decided upon, coordination (and unhesitating sacrifice) will be key to success.”
To complete the Major Order, players must eradicate 45 million Bile Spewers and 100 million Warriors. While this might sound like a lot, both the Bile Spewer and Warriors are incredibly common enemies and you will likely eliminate dozens in every Terminid mission. Because of this, it should be a surefire victory for the Helldivers as more players choose to fight the Terminids compared to the Automatons. If we are successful, the Orbital Napalm Barrage Stratagem will finally be unlocked, after players were previously unsuccessful in a previous Major Order.
This will keep players over the next few days ahead of the 01.001.007 update that is set to be released on September 17th. This update is the first major update of the 60-day roadmap to rectify many of the issues from the Escalation of Freedom update as well as fix many performance issues that are plaguing the game. Ahead of the update, Arrowhead Game Studios has been releasing periodic teasers to promote the upcoming patch. So far, we have learned that the Flamethrower, Railgun, and Breaker Shotgun are set to receive major buffs, while the Rocket Devastator enemies will be nerfed to make their endless barrage of rockets more manageable.
