Some Descendant parts, Blueprints, and Transcendent Mods are only found in Infiltration missions. They can be done solo or with a group, in a “Public” setting. Since chances are you’ll be repeating Infiltrations until you get the rewards you want, doing these missions with a group can speed things up. However, it does have its drawbacks.
It’s Not About Lazy Farming Anymore
AFKers are a menace in the TFD community. Some players want to get all the rewards but don’t want to bother playing or contributing in any way to the group. This is frowned upon, for obvious reasons. Someone is leeching off your and your squad’s hard work.
But, in Infiltration missions, the AFK situation can go from bad to worse. In certain parts of the “dungeon”, you can straight-up fail the whole mission if all squad members are not in the designated area. If you have at least one AFK player, you’re gonna have a bad time. Leeching off others is one thing, making them fail altogether and waste their time is way worse.
Players Would Rather Leave Then Waste Their Time
An increasing number of players report failing Infiltrations due to AFKers, and many simply leave the game. “Restarted the infiltration with the exact same squad, but one player went afk. We waited for a while, but I got tired of waiting and I decided to leave to Albion. Now why do I have to lose the entire Infiltration progress, because one player didn’t move?” asked MrSly0 on Reddit.
They continue offering possible solutions to this, like vote-kicking or changing the whole “mission will fail if anyone is outside the area” mechanic. But, one solution that everyone agrees to is to force-teleport AFK players to those areas, just like they are teleported to boss battles. “I don’t want to carry AFK leeches, but I’d absolutely support this mission just teleporting AFK folks dead center in the circle. Like you said, we shouldn’t be forced to fail on their account “ said Accomplished-End-799.
As for vote-kicking, players are fearful that it could be abused. “Don’t do vote to kick. It is in destiny and people get kicked at the end of some of the hardest content in the game before they get their loot. The other suggestions you gave are good though.” added Present-Plan-8011.
AFKers have been a plague on the community for a while now, and everyone agrees that Nexon has been going easy on them. Some more drastic measures should be taken. But, for starters, the OP’s solution of force-teleporting would be a good start. No reason for everyone to fail because of one lazy player.
