Picture this: We’re lounging on our comfy couch, Nintendo Switch in hand, daydreaming about the epic fights we could have if only Street Fighter 6 were on this portable gaming powerhouse. Like a Ryu Hadoken thrown at the beginning of a match, the question hits us: “Is Street Fighter 6 on Switch?” Alas, we have to keep our fight sticks at bay because, as it currently stands, this wishful thinking remains just that.
- Classic Experience Built for a Modern Era: With all core gameplay modes present, plus two brand new modes and enhanced visuals, Street Fighter 6 redefines the classic fighting game genre.
- Distinct Fighting Styles to Master: 18 diverse characters including legendary World Warriors and exciting brand new characters add their own flair to the game at launch, with more to be added post-launch.
- Brand New Game Modes: The Street Fighter franchise continues to hone its skills and redefine the fighting genre with the introduction of three new foundational modes – Fighting Ground, World Tour and Battle Hub.
- In-Game Commentating: Street Fighter’s first-ever Real-Time Commentary Feature, supported with subtitles in 13 languages, incorporates the voices of popular Fighting Game Community (FGC) commentators like Vicious and Aru directly into the game to narrate what is happening on-screen just like a real tournament.
- Two New Control Schemes: Classic Controls returns alongside two brand new options: Modern Controls allow you to perform special attacks with simple button combinations and are designed for players who want to fight without memorizing and practicing special move button combinations first. Dynamic Controls only require a press of the Auto-Attack button to perform attacks and is a great control type to use when you have friends and family over for a quick, casual game.
Street Fighter – Is It on Nintendo Switch?
Now, like many of you, we are fervent fans of the Street Fighter series. We’ve thrown Hadokens, pulled off amazing Combos, and made comebacks that felt nothing short of a miracle with your favorite character. So, it’s only natural for us to want Street Fighter 6 on our beloved Nintendo Switch. Sadly, as much as we’d love to tell you otherwise, we have to stick with the hard truth: Street Fighter 6 is not coming to the Nintendo Switch.
Yes, we understand the disappointment. We’ve been there, enthusiastically awaiting news about our favorite game hitting our favorite console. But sometimes, the gaming world doesn’t roll the way we’d like. While the Switch has a fantastic array of games, it looks like the SF6 won’t be one of them. No sitting in the sun playing multiplayer with a friend.
However, developers are known for their occasional plot twists. We can still cross our fingers and hope that the decision-makers at Capcom will see the value of bringing SF6 to the Switch. After all, who wouldn’t want to pull off stylish combos while waiting for a bus? But for now, it looks like we’ll have to stick to the platforms that have been announced, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam.
