Dedicated Star Citizen Players Tried to Categorize the Upcoming Fauna

Star Citizen is an in-development spacefaring multiplayer game, exclusive for Windows, where you can explore the galaxy, and trade or fight other players. It’s one of the more controversial games of today, as the development started more than 10 years ago, and it suffered delay after delay, with backers asking for refunds, and more. But despite all that, it still has a dedicated player base, with hundreds of thousands of active players. There is an annual event, called CitizenCon, that just recently wrapped up its twelfth iteration. It is where the upcoming content is announced and discussed, and this time, we got some concept art of the upcoming fauna, ie, beasties.

Players Speculate on How the Upcoming Fauna Will Be Categorized

On October 19, during the “Dressed to Kill” part of the event, the Star Citizen devs talked about the upcoming creatures that will be added in Star Citizen 1.0, including huge monsters. They finished by showing a huge collection of concept art for various creatures. Big or small, two-legged, four-legged, and no-legged, more than fifty different beasts are coming our way.

One player, named Alyk24 on Reddit, sat down and tried to categorize all the creatures to the best of their ability. The different categories are Humanoids, Predators, Herbivores, Giants, Flyers and Pets. Some players are quick to make jokes, like Jobbyst saying: “Omg I want that ugly looking pet so bad. He is already my everything and he’s only a line-drawing.”. Others comment that they can’t wait to play Space Palworld and get sued by Nintendo. Some, like yelmurc on X, are wondering if we’ll get “regular” animals, just like the ones we have on Earth, “to sell the believability that Earth exists in this universe.”

Unfortunately, there is still no word on the official release date for Star Citizen 1.0. So it may take years until we actually get to see these creatures added to the game.
