Have you heard that Prince of Persia is finally getting a new game? Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown is the next installment in the Prince of Persia franchise. It has been a while. This time, the game is a 2.5D action platformer. That means it’s a 2D “side-scroller”, honoring the original 1989 game, but rendered in a 3D style. You’ll have the ability to run, jump, slide, and dash through the air to get where you want. Also, you have a pair of swords to fight the enemies you meet along the way. The official release date for Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown is January 18, 2024. That is a little more than two weeks, from the day of writing this article. The game will be playable on various platforms and will be available in two editions: Standard Edition and Deluxe Edition.

The Story of Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown
In Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown, you play as Sargon, a young warrior of the Immortals. It is a standalone story, not a sequel or a prequel to any of the previous installments. As Sargon, you must travel to Mount Qaf, a cursed city, and rescue the kidnapped Prince Ghassan, his friend and an heir to the throne. You’ll unravel the mysteries of Mount Qat, where time does not flow as it should. Naturally, the game is inspired heavily by Persian mythology and features popular monsters, like the Manticore as a Boss Monster for example.
