The Indigo Disk DLC for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet brings loads of exciting new content to the table, both during your playthrough and after. From quelling and capturing Terapagos to registering new species of Pokémon to your ‘dex, there’s certainly a lot of ground to cover. If you’re unsure where to go next after beating the DLC, here’s a look at six things you’ll definitely want to do when you finish The Indigo Disk.
7 Things to Do After You Beat The Indigo Disk DLC
Complete the Epilogue this January
Following some untimely leaks that revealed a new Mythical Pokémon called Pecharunt, The Pokémon Company finally announced another installment to the two-part DLC for Scarlet and Violet. The Epilogue will arrive on January 11, 2024, taking us back to the land of Kitakami. This time, we’ll explore the region alongside our friends from Paldea, including Nemona, Arven, and Penny. There’s still a bit of time until the new chapter launches, so you can get a few other things done in the meantime.
Unlock Flying
This is a must to explore all the Terarium, Kitakami, and Paldea have to offer. Once you finish the main story of The Indigo Disk, you can meet Amarys in a classroom to teach Koraidon or Miraidon to fly — for good. With this new ability, you can easily access areas that were once hard to reach. This makes it easier to obtain new Legendaries like Gouging Fire, which is located atop a cliff in Area Zero.
Invite Friends from Paldea
Blueberry Academy is somewhat of a battle hub in The Indigo Disk. That said, you can invite Special Coaches to the school once you complete the main story. By doing this, you can rematch some of your favorite trainers, from Paldea’s Gym Leaders to the Elite Four and more. What’s more, you can even earn rare rewards like Herba Mystica and trade Pokémon with your visitors.
- Only one code for a Hisuian Zoroark can be used in either the Pokémon Scarlet or Pokémon Violet game. Upon purchase of The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero DLC, an email with your code will be sent to the email address registered to your Nintendo Account. From the in-game menu, go to the Poké Portal, then select Mystery Gift, select Get with Code/Password, and then enter your code.
- The Mystery Gift option can be found within the Poké Portal menu option in the X menu after you unlock the feature in the Pokémon Scarlet or Pokémon Violet game. (This occurs after about 1 to 1.5 hours of gameplay, though individual gameplay time may vary.) An internet connection and a Nintendo Account is required to redeem the item in game. A Nintendo Switch Online membership is not required. Each item can only be redeemed once.
Bring Starter Pokémon to the Terarium
While you can actually get started on this task before you complete The Indigo Disk, it’s tough to earn enough BP to bring all the starters to the Terarium prior to beating the DLC in full. That said, this is definitely something you’ll want to do after you finish the main story. By completing BBQs, you can rack up enough BP to bring your favorite partner Pokémon from past generations to existing biomes. This will allow you to add each one to your Pokédex and train up some new team members.
Catch All Legendary Pokémon
Powerful Legendary Pokémon will start to appear all around Paldea after beating the Indigo Disk DLC. From Suicune, Raikou, and Entei to Solgaleo and Lunala, you can encounter and catch a host of rare Pokémon from past generations. You’ll just need to get started by speaking with Snacksworth at the entrance to Blueberry Academy. By doing this, he’ll tell you stories about each Pokémon, giving you hints as to where they’re located.
Watch a Secret Cutscene
Once you beat the DLC, head on to the Crystal Pool. With Tetrapagos in your party, you will get a special Cutscene and an update to your title screen.
Fill Out Your Pokédex
With access to Legendary Pokémon and starters from past generations, you can add a slew of new entries to your Pokedex. Aside from these monsters, there are also plenty of other returning Pokémon that are now available to catch in the Terarium. By filling out your Pokédex, you can earn some handy rewards, from special varieties of Poké Balls to new events, such as a meeting with Perrin. Your old photographer friend can even help you catch Gouging Fire once you register 200 species to your Blueberry ‘dex.
